The Swamp Lotus was right in front of them, but they could not reach it.
The poisonous mist was too dense, and the mud was too deep. If they walked over directly, they would definitely sink.

His Chain shot out and accurately hooked the trunk of a dead tree in the distance. Then he gave it a hard pull.

Gon was the first to jump onto it. He ran along the trunk toward the Swamp Lotus. The trunk wobbled in the mud but did not sink.
"Steady!" he shouted over his shoulder. "Come on!"
Everyone stepped onto the trunk in turn and moved toward the Swamp Lotus.
Killua stood on his skateboard, tapped the trunk once, and launched himself forward. He landed steadily beside the largest Swamp Lotus.
"This one's the biggest." He crouched down and reached for the flower.
The flower's stem was very thick, about as thick as a wrist. Killua tugged hard, but it did not budge.
"The roots go deep," he said.
Gon hurried over, grabbed the stem with both hands, and pulled with all his strength.
"Up—!!!"
The entire Swamp Lotus was pulled out by the roots, bringing up a huge clump of mud and a thick section of lotus root.
"There's lotus root!" Gon excitedly held it up. "You can eat it too!"
Everyone split up and gathered more than a dozen Swamp Lotuses. Each one came with a thick lotus root and broad lotus leaves.
