Milluki's voice came through the communicator, tinged with confusion.
Bai Zhu was still holding a child he had just dragged out of a container. Hearing that, he only felt a headache coming on. What a hassle.
"...Weren't we supposed to split up? How did they get mixed up with you again?"
Milluki immediately exploded.
"How would I know? They suddenly came charging over and demanded to know where you were! I explained it for you! But Uvogin wouldn't listen at all! If you have anywhere to hide people over there, hide them now!"
Bai Zhu set the child down in the middle of the platform and casually patted her back.
"There's nowhere to hide people here. And you just sold me out like that, Young Master?"
"Sold you out my ass. Their informants are everywhere. Even if I said nothing, they'd find out where you are right away. Just run!"
Bai Zhu glanced around.
The children he had just rescued could barely stand.
He pinned the communicator between his shoulder and ear, freeing a hand to snap the last two chains.
"Can't run."
"No, don't start acting up again!"
"I'm not acting up."
Bai Zhu took the communicator to his ear, lowering his voice.
"Milluki, listen. Have Illumi keep an eye on Ella. Also, tell Chrollo that I currently have a ruined videotape in my hands."
"Are you crazy? You're still provoking them?"
"Don't make it sound so terrifying. I just think they might need it."
Another burst of crashing sounds came through the communicator.
Milluki cursed.
"Too late! Uvogin's already turned into a raging bull!"
Bai Zhu rubbed his brow.
"Fine. Hanging up."
"Bai Zhu!"
"Stop calling like I'm dead. I'm not dead yet."
He hung up.
Several gray-robed people were herding the ordinary people out of the chapel.
