Background

Ella was an ordinary woman who became Pige Aaron’s tenth “wife.” Aaron had been manufactured by the Creation Society to seduce women, impregnate them, inherit their wealth after their deaths, and provide their bodies as vessels for the cult’s “Lord.” Ella’s pregnancy was expected to kill her within four months, as it had the previous women used in the scheme 11 12.

Initially, Ella believed Aaron loved her and retained faith in the Creation Society’s god. After Illumi’s Nen-controlled interrogation forced Aaron to admit that his affection had been entirely fabricated, she was left devastated but chose to survive and seek vengeance for herself and the previous victims 11 12.

She burned the silver cross necklace she had carried from home, rejecting the faith, family expectations, and relationship that had enabled her exploitation. From that point onward, she resolved to control her own life 12.

Ella initially appears frightened, trusting, and emotionally dependent on Pige Aaron. Her faith and desire to believe in love made her vulnerable to the Creation Society’s manipulation 11 12.

After learning the truth, she becomes notably more independent and clear-minded. She refuses to remain a passive victim, choosing to live, take revenge, and act against the cult even when she knows she may die 12 14 17.

Her resolve does not erase her fear. Ella openly admits that she is afraid, but refuses to retreat when the imprisoned women’s lives are at stake 20. She later develops enough composure to deceive cult personnel, question their doctrine publicly, and deliberately cooperate with the team’s infiltration plans 26 27 29.

Pige Aaron’s Farmhouse

Ella first appears in Aaron’s farmhouse, where she is visibly alarmed by Bai Zhu’s arrival and avoids meeting his eyes 6. Bai Zhu later restrains her during Aaron’s interrogation, then frees her after recognizing that she is frightened rather than loyal to the cult 10 11.

Aaron’s confession reveals that Ella is the tenth woman selected to carry the cult’s “Holy Infant.” After the truth destroys her attachment to Aaron, she chooses survival and revenge 11 12.

Creation Society Infiltration

Ella becomes the basis for the team’s initial infiltration: Illumi disguises himself as her while Pige Aaron returns to the church under Nen control 12 13. When the Elder develops an interest in the disguised Illumi, Bai Zhu proposes exposing the real Ella as bait; Ella agrees after seeing the women imprisoned below the church 14 17.

Her appearance aboveground causes the Creation Society to panic, since the cult believes Number Fifteen is already underground. When Aaron’s familiar words nearly cause her to surrender, Ella instead cuts her palm and smears blood on a pillar, provoking the Black Crystal into identifying her as the true Cradle 20.

Capture and Return to the Altar

After Bai Zhu destroys the Black Crystal fragment threatening her, Ella agrees to feign collapse and allow the cult to recover her. This gives the group a way to map the route to the altar through her concealed Mechanical Spiders 26.

While being escorted underground, Ella questions the cult about the other women, deliberately appears compliant, and permits herself to be drugged so she can reach the Elder and the altar area 27 29. She stalls her guards by acting increasingly weak while Milluki guides her remotely 30.

Sanctification Descent

The Grand Elder attempts to connect Ella, designated Interface Fifteen, to the Black Crystal Mother Stone as the ritual’s core sacrifice. Illumi’s sabotage temporarily prevents the connection, but Ella remains imprisoned in the underground facility 31 32.

Illumi later covertly stabilizes her, protects her from additional sedatives and transfers through falsified medical orders, and weakens her restraint to give her an escape opportunity 33 34 42. The ritual eventually activates beneath her bed, Black Crystal patterns spread across her abdomen, and the cult seals her into the Sanctification Descent process 47 49.
