The moment Bai Zhu tossed those words into the comms, a muffled boom came from outside.
Milluki's terminal screen instantly tilted halfway over.
"Wait for my ass!"
Milluki hugged the terminal tight as the shifting ground sent him sliding sideways, nearly face-first into a crack in the stone.
Razor's demon reached out and scooped him up, hauling him back along with the case.
Dangling in midair, Milluki still remembered to shield the screen against his chest.
"Easy! If the screen breaks, are you paying for it?"
Razor ignored him and raised a hand.
Three demons simultaneously braced themselves against the black stone slab falling from above.
The slab was as large as a cargo truck, its edges flickering with blue light. The demons' shoulders sank, and the rails beneath their feet cracked open with loud snaps under the pressure.
Ging leaped over from the side and pressed his palm against a rotating stone plate beside the wall.
"Don't force it. To the right."
List shouted at almost the same time.
"Two steps forward-right. There's a safe foothold!"

The moment they moved, the rail where they had been standing flipped over completely, revealing black water surging upward from below. The water carried gravel and broken pipes made of some unknown material, sweeping away several range-finding spikes as it rushed up.
