• Bai Zhu and Ging used the revived city seals and the Silver-White Owl’s energy to defeat Hecatos, restore the locks, and halt the golden contamination.
• Bai Zhu arranged a 250-billion-Jenny settlement with Unma, then joined Milluki and Ging in investigating Pariston’s leads before accepting Milluki’s invitation to the Zoldyck home.
• Bai Zhu opened all seven layers of the Testing Gate with Reiatsu, sparred with Killua and Illumi, and went with Illumi to meet Maha.
• Maha examined Bai Zhu’s Red-Black Core, asked about his powers, and told him that something brought back from the Dark Continent had appeared inside Alluka.

Bai Zhu led his team into NGL to trace D1, the missing people, and the Soul King's Pen component, uncovering a network of villages and an underground city controlled by Zaiyilo. After negotiating with the general and learning of the Creation Society's leaders and Haro's plan, Bai Zhu prepared to follow Haro toward the Raw Material Zone.

• Bai Zhu left the Zoldyck estate with Milluki's equipment, then forced Milluki to join the NGL mission and entered the country with Piyu and Knov's team.
• Bai Zhu's group captured sentries and uncovered evidence that D1 experiments and the Creation Society were tied to missing people, guarded villages, and a ruin near the Black Gate.
• Bai Zhu and his companions infiltrated a village, witnessed the distribution of D1 pills, and learned that selected test subjects were transported north through a monthly door.
• Bai Zhu led the team north despite the risk of exposure, discovered a village transfer station, and boarded a railcar to meet General Zaiyilo in the Underground City.
• Bai Zhu confronted Zaiyilo, learned that Kakin had supplied the operation, and negotiated access to the factories, missing people, Creation Society intelligence, and wealth in exchange for entering the Black Gate.
• Bai Zhu's group found that the Creation Society was diverting D1 from the factory, then examined the Raw Material Zone and learned that the Black Gate had affected Haro.

Bai Zhu pursued the Creation Society’s leaders to the Black Gate, then entered the ruins and encountered Gao Mao and the monstrous Big Dog. He fought to rescue his captured friends, but the battle left him injured and Knov under Gao Mao’s control as the confrontation with Big Dog continued.

• Bai Zhu’s group stormed the fortress, killed the Silver Candle Envoy, and retreated as Orcs and fungal monsters attacked.
• Bai Zhu recovered the Black Box and used a piece of Pen Tongue to open the Black Gate, then entered alone to confront its hidden guardian.
• Knov was drawn into the Red Door, while Bai Zhu followed Zhang Ye’s trail and found Gao Mao, who revealed itself as the God of Bullshit.
• Gao Mao led Bai Zhu into the Red Door’s storage room, where Big Dog kept people frozen as wax figures and drained Knov’s Nen.
• Bai Zhu and Gao Mao fled with Knov, but Big Dog pursued them, forcing Bai Zhu to use Bankai and the Dead Realm while Gao Mao tried to hold the creature back.
• Bai Zhu severed the red threads sustaining Big Dog, but a One-Eyed Owl disrupted his powers and a spatial door pulled him away as the Black Gate closed.
• Bai Zhu woke in the Fourth Dimensional Apartment, then Gao Mao brought him back and revealed it had cured Knov while controlling him, and Knov used his spatial ability against Big Dog after Gao Mao sent him into the fight.

Bai Zhu and Milluki investigated a wave of hunger and monstrous transformations tied to Kakin’s experiments while searching for an escaped Experimental Subject. After Hisoka joined them, they discovered the subject was a Paper Person, but the infection spread rapidly across the city.

• Bai Zhu and Gao Mao escaped the Underground City through the Red Door, then Knov brought Milluki and the others into the ruins, where Milluki traded electronics for the Pope’s head and Bai Zhu advanced his Kidō Analysis.
• Bai Zhu and Milluki stayed in the City of Hunger after Pix’s transformation and death led them to investigate strange hunger, restaurant samples, and a masked deliveryman tied to Old Zhang.
• Bai Zhu and Milluki traced the deliveryman to an underground facility, where Bai Zhu found giant snakes and a meat-processing room before a Nen Tool trapped him in a black sphere.
• Milluki learned from Camilla that meat patties carried parasitic Nen Beast embryos, while Bai Zhu used the Soul King's Pen to break the sphere and rejoined Milluki.
• Hisoka found Bai Zhu and Milluki, joined their investigation, and led them to a rotten monster in Room 307, where they uncovered the escaped Experimental Subject hiding behind a wall.
• The crimson creature escaped through a crack, and Bai Zhu identified it as a Paper Person that could slip through narrow gaps.
• Bai Zhu, Milluki, and Hisoka tracked infected people through the night, but Hisoka had to kill a fused monster in Apartment 1508 as hungry people began appearing across the city.
