Background / History

Krieg commanded one of the East Blue’s largest pirate crews, relying on a fleet, heavy firepower, and numerous subordinates. His crew’s size and arsenal made local Marine branches reluctant to confront it directly. He held a bounty of 17 million Belly, while his subordinate Ogre Akainu held 12 million 147.

He was known as a ruthless pirate whose attacks on merchant ships reportedly left no survivors. Leo judged him irredeemable and chose not to offer his crew an opportunity to reform 147 158.

Appearance

Krieg was an exceptionally large, physically powerful man who wore golden armor.

Even after his fleet was annihilated, he responded with fury rather than retreat, ordering Agin to kill Leo’s group. He attempted to use a poison-gas weapon when Lafitte overwhelmed him 149.

Destruction of Krieg’s Fleet

Krieg’s fleet encountered Leo’s group near Orange Town and prepared to attack their apparent merchant ships. Ace countered with Fire Fist, whose explosive flames annihilated all seven warships in seconds 148.

Krieg, Agin, and Baru survived long enough to board the Cocoyasi Village ship. Lafitte killed Agin, then stopped Krieg from deploying his poison gas by piercing his heart through his armor. Baru surrendered, leading Leo’s group to Krieg’s treasure 149 150.
