As long as they turned in all kinds of garbage, they could receive enough food and water to fill their stomachs. The moment Xiao Ai's little shop was introduced, it became hugely popular. As she distributed supplies, the garbage in Meteor City visibly decreased.
Although the reduced amount was utterly insignificant compared to Meteor City's vast territory, at the very least, just as Xiao Ai had said, they had worked for it.
