I'll Protect You Until I Die

Jack followed his gaze to the canteen at his waist and curled his lip. "Fine, I'll give you some water." Compared to medicine, water was fairly ordinary for a Nen user like him. He picked up a small canister, poured him a cup of water, and handed it over. "Here, kid."

Luo Ye bowed to him. "Thank you, mister!" Then he dashed off with the canister in his hands. Jack watched the direction he had left in for a while before turning and leaving.

Inside the shipping container, Luo Ye fed Feitan some water. His cracked lips immediately moistened. "Cough, cough... Where did you find this water?" It was completely different from any water he had drunk before. There was none of that murkiness or earthy stench. Where had Ye found this water source?

"Thank goodness, you're finally awake! I thought you were going to kick the bucket!" Only when Feitan woke up did Luo Ye finally breathe a sigh of relief. "I begged someone else for that water. There was only this tiny canister, and I fed it all to you." Luckily, Feitan was tough enough to endure it. "Someone from the Elder Council. I spotted his medicine case and wanted to steal some medicine for you, but after sizing up the gap in our strength, I knew I couldn't beat him," Luo Ye explained succinctly. "Since I couldn't steal the medicine, I asked him for some water instead."

Of course, he had also benefited from still being a child. Meteor City was rather tolerant toward children.
