During Golden Lion Shiki's attack on Marineford, Sengoku fights beside Garp while protecting the headquarters from descending islands. The prolonged defense exhausts him and leaves Marineford devastated, reinforcing the danger posed by the era's greatest pirates 111 112 114.

Succession and Naval Reform
