"Were they looking for a fight?" Zoro glared at the massive ship before them.
"What did they mean by this?" Nami had a bad feeling about it.
"If they wanted a fight, then get down here." Sanji's gaze turned hostile.
"Even though we had quite a lot of gold, taking on the occasional bounty hunter job wasn't bad either." Li Ziming watched the Foxy Pirates with interest. If he remembered correctly, their captain was quite an amusing fellow.
"We are the Foxy Pirates! We aren't here to fight, but to duel!"
"A duel?" Nami felt her bad feeling about to come true.
"That thing, huh." Li Ziming found it interesting. "Then if we win, what do we get?"
"Hey, hey, we haven't agreed to compete yet!" Nami said anxiously. "We could just refuse, right?"
"Although you're right, our captain wouldn't give up on this kind of competition, would he?" Robin said with a smile.
"Don't worry, Nami, we'll win!" Sanji was brimming with confidence, then immediately put on a lovestruck expression. "I'll definitely offer victory to Nami!"
"They're just a bunch of trash. We'll win when the time comes." Zoro was equally confident.
Bang! A gunshot rang out.
"This is..." Nami was already beginning to despair.
"It's finally started." Sanji took a drag from his cigarette.
"Just what I wanted." Zoro stared at the Foxy Pirates with killing intent.
"This looked quite interesting." Robin was rather intrigued as well.
"Since they've started over there, it wouldn't be right if we didn't return the favor over here." Li Ziming rubbed his chin as he looked at the Foxy Pirates in front of him. "How about we blow these guys away first?"
"Wait, some of us are contestants! If you do that, we won't be able to compete afterward!" one of the pirates said, staring at Li Ziming in terror.
"What did that have to do with me?" Li Ziming smiled indifferently. "I was bored out of my mind on this island. Come on, entertain me." In an instant, Li Ziming used Geppo to reach the Foxy Pirates' ship. "Art is an explosion! Wahahaha!"
"What was wrong with him?" Nami asked in confusion. "I thought he didn't like fighting?"
"He was probably pent up," Robin said understandingly. "After being completely suppressed by others on Sky Island, he'd finally found someone he could bully. He was probably going to vent all the frustration in his heart."
"Honestly, what are you all doing?" Luffy had already walked over. "Was that ship an enemy?"
"My ship!" Foxy watched painfully as explosions kept erupting from his ship. "Who dared attack my ship?!"
"You were the captain?" Li Ziming instantly appeared before Foxy. "Split-chin? Cracked skull?"
"..." Foxy immediately collapsed into a kneeling pose.
"Captain!" Porche looked worriedly at her captain, while Hamburg secretly laughed nearby.
"Was this guy here to be funny?!" Nami felt utterly helpless. "This was the guy we were going to fight later?"
"Silver Fox Foxy. Although his bounty was low, only twenty-three million, he was a Slowpoke who had eaten the Slow-Slow Fruit. His ability was a little strange, so be careful." Li Ziming briefly explained the information he knew.
"He was a Devil Fruit user?" Nami was suddenly incredibly glad Li Ziming was on her ship. "What exactly could that Slow-Slow Fruit do?"
"Slow? Could it make other people move more slowly?" Robin asked curiously. Devil Fruit abilities came in all kinds, so knowing an opponent's Fruit ability during battle was highly beneficial.
"That's right. He could fire something called the Slow-Slow Beam. It could slow down someone else's time or perception?" Li Ziming did not know how to explain it. "It was like you suddenly became slower in other people's eyes."
"So as long as we don't get hit by that beam, it'll be fine?" Sanji's eyes held some curiosity. "That's quite a nice ability, but sadly, I'm only interested in the Clear-Clear Fruit."
"Then he seemed easy enough to deal with." Zoro was unconcerned as well.
"He looked easy to deal with, but in certain situations, his ability could be quite troublesome." Li Ziming took out several mirrors and handed them to everyone. "But since it was light, it could definitely be reflected. That means we could use his ability against him too."
"It seemed you'd prepared for everything." Robin looked at Li Ziming with interest. "What, did that pirate crew have something you wanted?"
"If possible, I was quite interested in Foxy's Slow-Slow Fruit ability. As for anything else, perhaps their wine collection might interest me?" Li Ziming sounded somewhat helpless. "In a sense, the Slow-Slow Fruit's ability involved time. If someone else used it, they probably would have claimed a place on these seas long ago."
"What a shame people couldn't possess a second Devil Fruit. Otherwise, you could have two abilities by then." Robin smiled at Li Ziming.
Was there really no way to possess two Devil Fruits? Li Ziming spoke so softly that no one heard him. Robin merely looked at him in confusion, not knowing what he was saying.
"Nothing. I was just really impressed by Foxy's crew. They actually had so many vendors on their ship." Li Ziming looked at the surrounding stalls in surprise, happily taking a skewer of grilled squid. "Grilled squid really was the best."
"Everyone seemed very happy," Robin said, equally relaxed.
"Yeah, but it looked like it was about to begin." Li Ziming watched as Luffy and Foxy both stepped onto the central platform, though Luffy was still chewing on a plate of noodles.
The two quickly finalized the rules of the duel and swore their oaths. The atmosphere immediately erupted.
"Who was Davy Jones?" Chopper asked Robin in confusion.
"I heard he was a cursed pirate who lived beneath the sea. Any treasure or person that sank to the ocean floor would be locked in his locker and claimed by him," Robin explained.
"So that's why it was called a Davy Back Fight," Sanji said with a sigh.
"You could live underwater?" Chopper said incredulously.
"There were naturally races that could live underwater. Fish-Men were one such race." Li Ziming pointed at several unusually tall figures among the Foxy Pirates. "Those were Fish-Men."
"What strange guys." Chopper was like an endlessly curious child.
"Hmph. Captain, swordsman, cook, sniper, navigator, cook, ship's doctor, archaeologist, and bartender... who should I choose?" Foxy seemed not to believe he could lose at all. "I've decided. It's him!"
