"Gurglegurglegurgle!!!"
The Ark sank to the seafloor, the entire ship wrapped in bubbles like a braised egg. Since they had no sails, it descended fairly quickly, but once it entered the depths, their speed slowed considerably.
"We're diving now. Once we enter the current zone, it won't be under our control anymore. Let me explain how we'll reach Fish-Man Island," Cook said after returning to the ship.
"First, the undersea currents are simple. Currents from the first half of the Grand Line are blocked by the Red Line and forced downward, forming a sideways U-shaped current. The upper currents crash into the Red Line and flow toward the seabed, creating sinking currents. As long as our ship keeps descending, we'll enter those currents. Reaching Fish-Man Island will only be a matter of time. The real dangers are the fish down there and the coating on our ship."
"Can this really protect us all the way to Fish-Man Island?" Ares asked worriedly. He did not dare touch the bubbles now, afraid that if one burst, he would be drowned by seawater.
"We've checked the coating several times. There's no problem with it, and the craftsmen are a reliable bunch. But conditions beneath the sea are harsh. Out of every ten ships that set out, probably only three successfully reach Fish-Man Island," Cook said.
"A thirty percent chance," Jelly said, raising an eyebrow.
Cook nodded. "That's right, thirty percent. The other seventy percent of ships end up buried on the seafloor."
"Is it too late to regret this? I want to go back. Let's just cross Reverse Mountain directly. Rogge, we can still turn around!" Ares cried, clinging to Rogge's arm.
"You're overthinking it. How could we retreat after coming this far? Look, the view is beautiful." Rogge tilted his head back
