Kuma's fight with Zoro was a one-sided beating. In the end, Kuma compressed a massive amount of air into a ball, turning it into a bomb.

An attack like that would never work in a clash between top fighters. It was only useful for crushing weaker opponents or fighting someone as huge as Oars. If Kuma tried it on Rogge, Rogge would reach him while he was still compressing the air and punch him.

Boom!

The air bomb exploded, leaving devastation in its wake. The Straw Hat Pirates and the Rolling Pirates were wiped out.

Kuma grabbed Luffy. He had said he wanted Luffy's head, and if he got it, he would spare everyone else.

But the Straw Hat Pirates had refused. Kuma had actually been testing them, especially with Rogge nearby. After all, Rogge had first made his name by killing their captain.

The Straw Hat Pirates had clearly passed Kuma's test. Not one of them had hesitated to risk death. They had all chosen to protect Luffy, refusing to let him die.

"It's done." Kuma walked over to Luffy, crouched, and reached for him.

"That's what you call done?" Rogge sneered.

The slash tore straight through Kuma's left shoulder. He froze, his mechanical arm exposed.

"Heh. I told you, unless you finish them off, you can't assume these ants are easy to kill. Sometimes you stamp down and there's a crack beneath your foot. Some of the ants survive." Rogge stood up.

Kuma was plainly furious. He opened his mouth and used a Pacifista laser weapon instead of his Paw-Paw Fruit powers.
