The Marines had engaged Whitebeard ahead of schedule, and Whitebeard had not been stabbed beforehand. Although he could not escape the illness ravaging his body, he was still a king. Rogge was satisfied to have fought Whitebeard in this condition.

Raising his hand and looking at the ryuo coiled around it, Rogge gained a deeper understanding of haki.

Yet, unbeknownst to Rogge, someone on the Execution Platform was staring at him, his eyes brimming with disgust.

Sensing something, Rogge raised his head and met Garp's gaze. They stared at each other, and Rogge looked utterly bewildered. When did I offend this old man? Why is he looking at me like that?

"I..." Rogge was dumbfounded. Was this old man warning me?

He finally understood why Kizaru had changed his mind at the last moment. This old man had been exerting pressure from afar. Otherwise, why would Kizaru have gone easy on them yet again?

He was probably warning Rogge too: stay out of the fight and stop getting in the way.

Rogge got the message. Without another word, his backside practically sprouted legs. Just like Red-Hair dodging Whitebeard's sake bottle, he wriggled away nimbly, slipping off unnoticed and putting some distance between himself and the Execution Platform.
