"Deal." Kabuto Yakushi had thought Lin Chuan would ask for some powerful ninjutsu, but all he wanted was a Chakra Blade. Those were everywhere in the Land of Iron. Every samurai there had one, after all. They were hardly rare; only the high-quality ones were scarce.
There were Chakra Blades in Lord Orochimaru's storeroom. He could fetch one the next time he went back.
"What do you want to know about Sasuke?" Seeing how readily Kabuto Yakushi agreed, Lin Chuan smiled too. They both got what they wanted. Neither of them lost out.
"I want you to keep an eye on Sasuke when I can't. Record his every move and give the reports to me." Kabuto Yakushi gently pushed up his glasses, the corners of his mouth lifting almost imperceptibly in the shadows. He hadn't expected the deal to go through so easily. It was quite a surprise.
He had thought the boy would at least struggle a little for his classmate's sake, say something about never betraying a fellow student, and righteously refuse him. Instead, it turned out they were the same kind of person.
"Sure. When do I get the Chakra Blade?" Lin Chuan had thought Orochimaru wanted Sasuke's body right now, but he only wanted him watched. Apparently, Orochimaru still intended to test Sasuke personally during the Chunin Ninja Exams.
"We'll use six-month observation periods. You're in the second semester of your fourth year now, with two and a half years until graduation. I'll give you the Chakra Blade at the end of your fifth year..."
"No problem." After hearing Kabuto Yakushi's proposal, Lin Chuan turned and entered a toilet stall. He had been holding it in for ages.
"Heh." Kabuto Yakushi watched Lin Chuan walk away, then left the restroom and disappeared, waiting for good news
