"No! I'll get stronger! I'll get my revenge! I can become a Jonin too!" At Lin Chuan's taunts, Sasuke's eyes turned bloodshot and he roared, glaring at Lin Chuan as though he wanted to tear the arrogant bastard apart.
"Impossible. You can't even beat me, and you think you can get revenge?" Lin Chuan kept taunting the little brat. What Sasuke needed right now was a push. "Your brother had already graduated from the Ninja Academy at our age. You're not even a Genin."
"I'll beat you." Sasuke knew his shortcomings. He really couldn't beat Lin Chuan right now. Ever since they started school, Lin Chuan had always beaten him, but how could he possibly admit defeat?
"Sure. I'll be waiting." Hearing Sasuke say that, Lin Chuan finally smiled and held out a hand to him as he lay on the ground.
"Hmph." Sasuke didn't reject Lin Chuan's kindness. He took his hand and stood up, planning to go home, shower, and change into clean clothes.
"Come on. I'll treat you to Ichiraku Ramen." Lin Chuan retrieved the kunai he had used to attack earlier. Now that he had left Root, he had to pay for all these kunai himself. It was back to his old penny-pinching days.
"You'd be that nice?" Sasuke found it hard to believe. Lin Chuan, who had just mocked him, attacked him ruthlessly, and even tried to kill him, was actually offering to treat him to Ichiraku Ramen.
"Don't think so badly of me. We're classmates, after all." Lin Chuan smiled and beckoned for him to follow, and the two headed to the Ichiraku Ramen Shop together.
At the Ichiraku Ramen Shop, Teuchi knew Lin Chuan. Lin Chuan often came here with Naruto, and he had even treated Naruto to ramen on his last birthday.
