Background
Kane transmigrated into the pirate world and arrived on Ohara shortly before its destruction. He escaped the Buster Call with Nico Robin, covering her escape when they became separated; they did not reunite for ten years. 1
After awakening a system that lets him copy abilities from women whose favorability reaches set thresholds, Kane joined the Marines to meet and train alongside powerful female officers. Over the following decade, he accumulated Devil Fruit abilities, Haki, the Six Powers, and Giant Strength, while becoming unpopular with many male Marines because of his attention from female colleagues. 1
Three months before the opening chapter, Robin—injured while fleeing bounty hunters—collapsed at Kane’s Marine base. Their reunion developed into a romantic relationship, and Robin began living safely under his protection while disguised as a Marine named Carina. 1
Appearance
Kane is a tall, powerfully built man with a muscular chest, handsome features, and dark eyes. 1 10
- Usually wears a Marine officer’s uniform. 27
- Can manifest wings and take bat-like forms through the Bat-Bat Fruit. 32 36
- His combat forms can include multiple pairs of wings and a giant ice-and-snow body. 36
Personality
Kane is confident, irreverent, and highly social. He teases allies, antagonizes enemies, and often treats dangerous confrontations as opportunities to test himself. His Marines complain about his harshness and arrogance, yet remain attached to him and trust his leadership. 1 2 42
He is also calculating and pragmatic. Kane exploits emotional vulnerabilities to gain favorability and abilities, fabricates political narratives when useful, and relies on deception, hostages, clones, and psychological pressure rather than honorable combat. 8 23 27 45
Despite this ruthlessness, Kane is protective of people he considers worth saving. He prioritizes Rosinante and Law’s survival, wants Baby-5 to have a better life, rescues slaves at Mary Geoise, and risks himself to help Kuma search for Ginny. 8 9 46 48
Abilities & Skills
Favorability System
Kane’s system allows him to copy abilities possessed by women once their favorability reaches each thirty-point threshold. He may select one available ability at each opportunity. 1 31
- Copied abilities can include Devil Fruits, Haki, martial arts, swordsmanship, and practical skills. 1 9 12
- His copied Devil Fruits may develop beyond the source user’s level because their growth depends on his strength, aptitude, and imagination. 9
- The system only functions on women. 1
Flower-Flower Fruit
Kane’s most versatile ability is a highly developed copy of Robin’s Flower-Flower Fruit. 1 32
- Creates eyes for reconnaissance and surveillance. 1
- Produces fully functional Flower Clones that share one consciousness with him. 9
- Can control at least five clones at once; their combined senses give him broad battlefield awareness. 9
- Uses clones for sniper ambushes, diversions, infiltration, and widespread arson at Mary Geoise. 10 14 48 49
- Dismisses endangered clones to prevent their injuries from affecting him. 12
Bat-Bat Fruit
Kane’s Bat-Bat Fruit grants flight, transformation, and enhanced recovery. 1 29 32
- Combines bat wings with the Flower-Flower Fruit to fly while carrying allies. 32 41
- Creates bat-form clones for scouting. 9
- Produces bat mouths and ears that use ultrasonic waves to map surroundings without Observation Haki. 46
- His Zoan physiology helps him recover from severe training injuries overnight. 29
- During battle with Sasaki and Hanafusa, his transformation is identified as a Mythical Zoan form. 36
Arms-Arms Fruit
Copied from Baby-5, this fruit lets Kane transform his limbs into weapons limited by his technical knowledge and imagination. 9
- Forms blades, axes, firearms, grenades, shields, and a massive meteor hammer. 9 14 49
- Creates Barrett M82A1-style anti-materiel rifles with armor-piercing and incendiary ammunition. 9 10
- Combines weapon transformations with Flower Clones to create concealed firing positions. 10 12
- Firearms are devastating against weaker opponents but cannot penetrate Doflamingo’s superior Armament Haki. 13 14
Snow-Snow Fruit
Kane’s Logia ability allows him to create, control, and transform into snow. 32
- Can disperse his body into snowflakes. 32
- Creates freezing mist capable of reducing a Seastone door to roughly minus one hundred degrees Celsius. 49
- Generates enormous ice-and-snow constructs and blizzards, which he used to exploit the cold vulnerability of Ancient Zoan users. 36
- Coats his fists in frost to counter Charlotte Oven’s extreme heat. 45
Wash-Wash and Barrier-Barrier Fruits
Kane possesses copies of Tsuru’s Wash-Wash Fruit and Hina’s Barrier-Barrier Fruit. 9 14
- Uses the Wash-Wash Fruit to remove Robin’s disguise. 20
- Later significantly improves the Barrier-Barrier Fruit through Hina’s second copy opportunity. 46
- The supplied material does not fully document Kane’s combat applications for either fruit.
Haki, Six Powers, and Swordsmanship
Kane has mastered several high-level combat disciplines. 32
- Armament Haki — hardens his body and weapons; used to break Hina’s restraints, clash with Vergo, and reinforce weaponized limbs. 2 7 50
- Observation Haki — detects hidden enemies, prisoners, ambushes, and battlefield movements. 22 42
- Six Powers — includes Soru, Geppo, Rankyaku, and Rokuogan; his perfected Soru allows sudden high-speed repositioning. 21 26 28
- Bird-Style Swordsmanship — copied from Cuckoo; includes the Secret Art: Lone Goose Break and coordinated sword techniques. 12 13 26
- Giant Strength — gives his strikes and throws immense force, especially when paired with Armament Haki. 7 12
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Sword — Kane’s primary melee weapon; used with Bird-Style techniques and Armament Haki. 12 26
- Seastone chain and shackles — used to disable Devil Fruit users including Buffalo, Jora, and Señor Pink. 9 10 12
- Den Den Mushi — used for operational communication and to provoke Doflamingo after Vergo’s capture. 7 8
- Generated firearms and explosives — created through the Arms-Arms Fruit rather than carried conventionally. 9 14
Relationships
- Nico Robin — Childhood companion from Ohara and Kane’s established lover. He protected her during Ohara’s destruction; she later reunited with him and became emotionally secure through their relationship. 1 32
- Hina — Marine partner and frequent sparring companion. Kane’s teasing concern over her smoking develops into mutual affection; her abilities supply him with the Barrier-Barrier Fruit. 2 46
- Cuckoo — Close ally, swordsmanship source, and romantic partner. Kane repeatedly protects her in battle, while she trusts his plans and becomes increasingly affectionate. 10 13 45
- Tsuru — Senior Marine officer who values Kane’s judgment, assigns him major operations, and entrusts him with strategic responsibilities. 4 14 27
- Gion — Kane’s terrifying former instructor and a major force behind his growth. Their relationship mixes brutal training, rivalry, attraction, and mutual recognition. 28 29
- Kujaku — Tsuru’s granddaughter and Kane’s long-time friend. Kane protected her from Gion’s harsh training, creating a close, teasing bond. 4 31
- Baby-5 — Initially approached for her Devil Fruit, but Kane becomes sincerely concerned for her welfare and promises not to abandon her. 9 22
- Monet — A Donquixote Family affiliate whom Kane manipulates through his Vergo impersonation. He gives her a false Marine identity while gradually earning her dependence and favorability. 22 23 32
- Rosinante and Trafalgar Law — Kane rescues them from Vergo, protects Law’s Op-Op Fruit secret, and helps arrange their escape from Doflamingo. 7 8
- Kuma and Ivankov — Revolutionary allies during the Mary Geoise infiltration. Kane directs the operation and helps Kuma search for Ginny. 46 49
- Black Maria — Initially an enemy from the Beasts Pirates. After Kane defeats her allies but treats her gently, she develops trust and attraction toward him. 36 37
- Boa Hancock, Sandersonia, and Marigold — Young slaves freed by Kane during the Mary Geoise uprising; their favorability becomes sufficient for another ability-copy opportunity. 48
Story Role / Major Arcs

Minion Island and the Doflamingo Operation
Assigned by Tsuru and Zephyr to an operation involving Doflamingo and the Op-Op Fruit, Kane exposes Vergo as a Donquixote spy, rescues Rosinante and Law, captures several Donquixote officers, and survives a direct confrontation with Doflamingo until Tsuru’s reinforcements arrive. 4 7 14
Escort to Impel Down
Kane serves as bait in Sengoku and Tsuru’s false announcement concerning Rosinante’s capture. He defeats the Ironclad Pirates, suspects a larger conspiracy, and convinces Tsuru to politically blame Germa Kingdom for the attack. 20 26 27
Red Port and Big Mom Pirates Incident
While escorting Doflamingo near Mary Geoise, Kane repels Charlotte Oven and his brothers. Rather than kill them, he turns their failed rescue into a warning directed at Perospero and the Big Mom Pirates. 44 45
Mary Geoise Infiltration
Kane covertly enters Mary Geoise with Kuma and Ivankov to locate Ginny. He maps the city with bat-based echolocation, helps free slaves and imprisoned Devil Fruit users, liberates the Boa sisters, creates citywide chaos through his clones, and begins breaking into Saint Saturn’s laboratory. 46 48 49
