As they walked, the sky gradually brightened. Golden morning light pierced the horizon, the sea of clouds surged, shimmering with warmth, and the clouds seemed to be edged in gold—beautiful beyond measure.

Xia Luo and Bullet were drawn in by the sight before them. At a glance, they felt as though their very souls had been cleansed.

Xia Luo called out to Gan Fall and motioned for Bullet to stop him.

Gan Fall halted, his brows tightly furrowed as he looked at her in confusion. The next second, Xia Luo's words startled him. "Your injuries aren't light, are they?"

"What injuries? I don't understand what you're talking about. Tell your man to move aside!" Gan Fall forced himself to remain calm, pretending to be angry as he tried to leave, but Bullet blocked his path.

Ignoring Gan Fall's furious glare, Xia Luo continued on her own:

"The High West route is certainly dangerous, but every year, many pirates are still willing to risk their lives just to see the legendary Sky Island with their own eyes."

"Leaving aside the price Skypieans fetch when sold in the Blue Sea, just the resources on Sky Island are enough to make people drool. Take those resources to the sea, and they can be sold for a high price with a simple resale. The profits are enormous."

"Not to mention the rumors that Sky Island holds inexhaustible gold. The pirates flock here like moths to a flame."

With every sentence Xia Luo spoke, Gan Fall's expression changed, as if heavy hammers were striking directly against his heart.

Gan Fall interrupted Xia Luo and shouted in a low voice, "Enough! Stop talking. Who are you? What do you want? I warn you, don't try anything!"

Seeing that the time was right, Xia Luo immediately said, "Don't misunderstand. We mean no harm. Gan Fall, I admire you. I want to invite you to become my companion and raise my flag on Sky Island!"

"In exchange, I can help you deal with every pirate who comes to Sky Island with ill intent."

"No..."

Gan Fall had just begun to refuse when Xia Luo interrupted him again. "Don't rush. Hear me out. Besides helping you deal with pirates, I can also resolve the conflict between you and the Shandia people, allowing you to let go of past grudges, shake hands, reconcile, and live together in peace."

Gan Fall could not believe it. "You even know about that?"

Gan Fall took a deep breath and said, "How can I trust you?"
