Background / History
The Capone Family was one of the West Blue’s three major powers alongside the Marines and Happo Navy, as well as one of the Five Great Mafia Families. Its influence extended throughout the sea through protection rackets, assassinations, local gangs, and an extensive intelligence network. 6 9
Before the conflict with Ohara, the family had reached the limit of its land-based expansion. Its patriarch sought a path into maritime affairs through a dangerous weapons shipment, while using a planned assault on Ohara as a distraction to draw the other mafia families’ attention away from the deal. 7
The family initially intended to follow its usual practice of sending a limited force to provoke an opponent and demand compensation after a staged confrontation. The patriarch instead ordered Capone Bege to lead an extermination campaign against every historian on Ohara, treating the operation as a smokescreen for the arms shipment. 7
Jogo’s infiltration of Sunflower Island disrupted the plan. He killed combat captain Gotti, stole the shipment list, exposed the family’s dealings to the Marines, and triggered an investigation into its corrupt arrangement with Captain Nezumi. 10 11 13 14
During the Battle of Dark Harbor, the Capone Family’s defenses initially stalled a Marine assault. Jogo infiltrated the battlefield, reached the patriarch’s hideout, killed him and his bodyguards, freed the captive Acne Pirates, and burned the family’s Sunflower Island headquarters. 15 16 17
Bege succeeded his father and attempted to stabilize the weakened organization through an assassin contract on Jogo, a partial sale of the remaining weapons shipment, and the continued use of external contact points. 18 23 Jogo later killed Vito and destroyed the Dendrobium Island contact point, further damaging the family’s network. 45 46
Bege ultimately gambled the family’s remaining resources on an ambush at Golden Chrysanthemum Island, seeking support from both the Marines and Happo Navy. Jogo bypassed the planned defenses, immobilized Bege with Conqueror’s Haki, restrained him with Seastone handcuffs, and beheaded him publicly. 48 49
Organization and Influence
- The Family was regarded as one of the “five kings” of the West Blue underworld; even minor kingdoms reportedly paid it protection money. 9
- Local gangs operating under the Capone Family’s banner paid regular tribute, including half of the Wild Dog Gang’s monthly income. 9
- Its activities included protection rackets, assassination, weapons smuggling, black-market trade, and intelligence gathering. 6 11 23
- The organization maintained influence within local institutions. On Sunflower Island, the volunteer fire brigade lacked usable equipment after its funding had been diverted into gang protection payments. 12
- Captain Nezumi and the Marine 81st Branch collaborated with the Family, accepting bribes in exchange for shielding its harbor operations from scrutiny. 12 13 14
- After the patriarch’s death, Marine campaigns shut down Capone Family businesses across the West Blue, allowing rival gangs to seize its territory. 41 47
Known Members

Major Conflicts
Ohara Operation
The patriarch ordered Bege to gather forces and annihilate Ohara’s historians. The stated conflict over the Chest Hair Pirates was intended to generate chaos and distract the other mafia families from the Family’s weapons transaction. 7 9
The operation failed before a direct attack on Ohara could occur. Jogo uncovered the plan, killed Gotti, reported the weapons shipment, and eventually assassinated the patriarch. 11 13 17
Battle of Dark Harbor
After the Marine investigation exposed its harbor activities, the Family fought a large-scale battle at Dark Harbor. Its fortified gun emplacements halted the Marine advance until Jogo secretly incapacitated the machine-gun crews from within the Marine ranks. 15
Bege entered the battle personally in his fortress form, but Jogo used the confusion to infiltrate the Family’s territory and reach the patriarch. 15 16
Campaign Against Jogo
Following the deaths of Gotti and the patriarch, Bege hired Daz Bones to assassinate Jogo and ordered Vito to continue pursuing him. 18 23
After Jogo killed Vito, Bege mobilized the Family’s remaining forces across the West Blue, sought alliances with the Marines and Happo Navy, and arranged a trap at Golden Chrysanthemum Island. 46 48
The campaign ended when Jogo arrived ahead of schedule, defeated the island’s defenders, restrained Bege with Seastone, and executed him before Marine and Happo Navy representatives. 49
