Background

Wang Tianyi was originally a modern-world shut-in who died after being struck by a car. He awakened in the body and memories of a sickly six-year-old orphan of the same name in the Douluo Continent. The original child’s soul-master parents had died early, and Wang Chen—a Level 32 Battle Soul Elder—had adopted and raised him despite his poor health. Tianyi promised to live fully in the child’s place and repay Wang Chen’s care. His inherited physical weakness vanished after he accepted that resolve. 1

On the day of his martial-soul awakening, Tianyi received the God-Tier Choice System. Rejecting its safer rewards, he gambled on its roulette and obtained the Twin Transcendent God-Tier Martial Souls Heaven-Equaling and Six Ears, as well as Innate Full Soul Power. 1 2

The two martial souls are mutually opposed conscious entities. Their conflict continually causes Tianyi severe spiritual pain, but also expands his Spiritual Sea into a golden half associated with Qi Tian and a dark half associated with Six Ears. The system warns that he must keep their power balanced, particularly by obtaining soul rings for both martial souls within a short interval. 4 5 7

Appearance

As a twelve-year-old, Wang Tianyi is a refined, strikingly handsome youth with ape-like arms, a narrow waist, and an aloof bearing that draws attention. His calm exterior is often undercut by an unmistakable pride. 28

Personality

Tianyi is ambitious, pragmatic, and intensely independent. He refuses to bind himself to Spirit Hall, Yu Xiaogang, Shrek Academy, or aristocratic expectations when he believes another route better serves his interests. His knowledge of the world’s expected events makes him determined to challenge Tang San rather than accept him as a destined protagonist. 2 4 28

His personality is unstable because of his martial souls’ influence. Heaven-Equaling heightens compassion, humility, and justice, while Six Ears magnifies arrogance, hostility, ruthlessness, and pride. He can shift abruptly from courteous and considerate to contemptuous and battle-hungry. 7 8 20 37

Despite his cruelty toward enemies and soul beasts, Tianyi remains deeply devoted to Wang Chen. Protecting his adoptive father repeatedly restrains him from acting on his most violent impulses, and he continues buying gifts for Wang Chen while training away from home. 12 24 43
