Organization and Leadership

Shrek’s inner academy is based on Sea God Island in Sea God Lake, while Sea God’s Pavilion serves as its highest leadership body. The academy’s graduates and elders form a major source of Soul Master influence throughout the Douluo Three Kingdoms. 88 104

History

Conflict with Lu Yuan

A Shrek deacon first encountered Lu Yuan during a Martial Soul awakening in Ox-Horse Village. The deacon judged Lu Yuan’s black-and-red dragon-like Martial Soul to be evil on appearance alone, declared him an “Evil Soul Master,” and attempted to take him to Shrek for punishment. Lu Yuan fought back, injured the deacon, and escaped into the Star Dou Forest. 1 2

After receiving the deacon’s report, Du Weilun and Yan Shaozhe concluded that Lu Yuan might possess Innate Full Soul Power and possibly Twin Martial Souls. Yan ordered that Lu Yuan be brought to Shrek by any means necessary, with the option of branding him an Evil Soul Master if he resisted strongly enough to avoid capture. 10

Du Weilun dispatched one Soul King and ten Soul Elders to seize Lu Yuan in the forest. The entire search party was ambushed and killed by Lord Bear and young Darkgolden Terrorclaw Bears, following a strategy devised by Lu Yuan. 12

Continental Soul Dueling Tournament

Shrek entered the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Soul Dueling Tournament with an unusually young team that included Huo Yuhao, Wang Dong, Bei Bei, Xu Sanshi, Jiang Nannan, He Caitou, and Ning Tian. Huo Yuhao’s simulated six Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Rings immediately secured Shrek’s opening victory over Tianling Academy through intimidation. 46

Shrek’s final against the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineering Academy became the academy’s most severe public defeat in ten thousand years. Its strategy relied on exhausting Lu Yuan during the team battle, then using stronger Soul Emperors in the individual round; Lu Yuan instead deployed the Little Snow Empress, an autonomous humanoid Martial Soul that overwhelmed the entire Shrek lineup. 64 65

Xuan Zi attempted to defend Shrek’s legitimacy before the crowd and later sought to classify Lu Yuan as an Evil Soul Master for allegedly using excessive force. Lu Yuan publicly challenged the accusation, arguing that dangerous power was not proof of evil and comparing his treatment with Shrek’s tolerance of Ma Xiaotao’s Evil Fire Phoenix. Huang Jinxu ultimately enforced the tournament rules and confirmed Sun Moon’s victory. 71 75

Ma Xiaotao Incident

Following the tournament loss, Ma Xiaotao lost control of her Evil Fire Phoenix power amid anger, humiliation, and Abyssal influence. Her flames turned black, and she attacked fellow Shrek members and spectators indiscriminately, causing the public to question whether Shrek had harbored an Evil Soul Master. 76

Ma Xiaotao was later fatally wounded during the arena chaos. Xuan Zi blamed Lu Yuan for her death and sought revenge, while Lu Yuan used the bodies of two Holy Spirit Cult members to persuade spectators that Shrek had sheltered Evil Soul Masters. 78

Sea God’s Pavilion decided to protect Shrek’s public image by issuing a narrative that Lu Yuan had secretly harmed Ma Xiaotao during the tournament. The academy placed Lu Yuan on its wanted list, preferably to be captured alive so Shrek could investigate his extraordinary soul rings. 85

Rebuilding Efforts

Shrek’s loss was worsened by a shortage of successors: two generations of promising Shrek Seven Monsters had already been lost, leaving the academy with a projected gap in high-level combat power. The remaining tournament participants were therefore treated as Shrek’s essential future. 88

Sea God’s Pavilion granted Huo Yuhao, Wang Dong, Bei Bei, Xu Sanshi, He Caitou, Jiang Nannan, and Ning Tian immediate entry into the inner academy, recognized them as the new generation of Shrek Seven Monsters, and awarded each a Soul Bone suited to their attributes. Huo Yuhao, Wang Dong, and Bei Bei also received three months of cultivation in the Ancient Golden Tree. 88

Public Controversy

Lu Yuan later retaliated against Shrek’s wanted notice through a media campaign credited to the Abyss Cult. He sold newspaper editors allegations that Yan Shaozhe and Xuan Zi were Evil Soul Master agents embedded within Shrek’s leadership; the claims were presented without independently verified proof. 104 105

The reports triggered widespread panic in Shrek City and distrust among Shrek students. Rumors expanded beyond the original accusations, with some claiming that Sea God’s Pavilion had been infiltrated or that Shrek’s inner courtyard was an Evil Soul Master training ground. 106

Yan Shaozhe publicly denied every allegation and displayed his Light Phoenix Martial Soul as evidence of his innocence. However, observers noticed blackish-purple feathers within the phoenix’s tail, and his anger caused Abyssal aura to visibly spread through the Martial Soul, reviving public suspicion. 107
