Background / History

Wang Ping had lived in Great Shun for twenty years after arriving in this world. Initially expecting no miraculous advantage, he spent those years building connections and seeking a livelihood, eventually joining the White Lotus Sect to support himself. 1 2

Wang Ping originally served as an undercover agent for the Great Shun court within the White Lotus Sect. Recognizing the value of martial power in a world where casual attacks could shatter stone, he immediately accepted White Lotus leader Shouchong as his master while intending to preserve his court connections. The court later abandoned him, and he died violently before gaining the yamen position he had once sought. 2 8 74

Shouchong exposed Wang Ping’s undercover status but escaped rather than executing him, leaving the Lotus Blade in his hands. The attacking authorities identified the blade’s bearer as the White Lotus leader and shot Wang Ping through the chest despite his attempts to identify himself as their agent. 3 4

After reviving in the Morgue, Wang Ping obtained the incomplete He Transformed into Freedom and Governed the Desire Realm Heavenly Scripture. It did not provide a complete immortal path, but he extracted the Desire Realm Heavenly Birth Method and chose to pursue martial arts in Great Shun instead. By spending all White Lotus fortune through the Scripture of Great Peace, he received a new identity as a constable from a Longxing County constable family. 8

His new body retained his original appearance in a younger form rather than possessing a stranger. Within half a month of entering the yamen, he developed Spirit Sense, perfected Yama’s Three Demon Blades, killed his senior brother Xie Shi, and gained a county-wide reputation as the Great Dragon Spear. 8 12 14 15

Chen Haoyan rewarded him after Xie Shi’s death but also forced him to escort the Lotus Blade openly to the Spirit Wandering Temple, intending to lure Shouchong into confronting the Wandering God True Person. Wang Ping accepted the dangerous assignment while demanding additional payment. 14

Wang Ping acquired Chen Haoyan’s martial inheritance after Chen’s death, reached External Arts Perfection, and used the hidden Sky Roc Dragon-Seizing Physique Diagram to become an Inner Force Martial Master. This victory exposed him to County Magistrate Xu Bingzheng, the hidden master behind the same Heavenly Roc system. 26 27 28

After fleeing Longxing County with Su Ya, Wang Ping returned to confront Xu Bingzheng. He apparently died in the battle after exposing Xu’s use of constable puppets and leaving him with a poisoned life-extending pill. His body vanished, allowing Su Ya to retain hope that he survived. 33 35

Wang Ping revived again and entered the Immortal Sect world as a prospective Force Servitor. Confirmed to lack a Variant Spiritual Root, he nevertheless gained access to the Six Desires Heaven Self-Mastery Method, created the Six Desires Primal Chaos Demon, and began Crossing Tribulations through a Defective Spiritual Root path. 36 37

Returning to Great Shun under the identity of a Golden Cavalry Guard, Wang Ping became supervising commissioner of the Black Armor Battalion. He reunited with Su Ya, mobilized the battalion against Longxing County, killed Xu Bingzheng with a single punch, and became the Weapon Ranking’s “Dragon Fist.” 45 48 54

His actions in Longxing County brought him into the Imperial Attendant Hall. He accepted the Thirteen Guardians’ Horizontal Training Hard Qi Art, gained Dragon’s recognition as a potential Martial Grandmaster, and later became one of the Hall’s most exceptional martial talents. 46 89

Under the rogue-cultivator identity Ping Jiangzi, Wang Ping confronted Soulfall Master and overcame layered soul attacks by retaining control of the identity’s memories. After defeating him, Wang Ping declared his intention to escape Fate. His repeated returns to Longxing County and Daoist Nun You eventually led him to suspect that the Peace Scripture itself was arranging his circumstances. 64 69 76

During the Longxing County crisis, Wang Ping operated as the Six-Desire Demon King and discovered that the White Lotus Sect and court were entangled in competition between Immortal Sect factions. He later accepted Dragon’s offer to join the Attendant Hall secretly while remaining the Shu Region Rebel King. 70 85 87 90

As his cultivation expanded beyond Great Shun, Wang Ping repeatedly used false identities, borrowed Fate through the Peace Scripture, and exploited conflicts among the Immortal Sect, Brahma Cultivators, rogue cultivators, and True Disciples. He manipulated Jin Hai into targeting Kun Yun, became entangled in Mingyou’s long-term plans, and eventually learned that he was being used as a crucial foundation for Mingyou’s Human Yin Fire Dao path. 103 150 290

In the Great Shun capital, Wang Ping cultivated the Earth-Bearing Myriad Gods Diagram through the imperial City God network and formed an alliance with the Six Directions Eternal-Suppression Cauldron Spirit against the old emperor’s exploitation of National Destiny. He ultimately completed the cauldron’s master-recognition trial, gained its profound mysteries, and obtained the Heaven-Bearing Immortal Body. 199 205 206 300

The cauldron’s trial required him to defeat five Qi Refiners whose cultivation was reduced to his level while their Dao understanding and combat experience remained intact. Despite being killed immediately in his first attempt, Wang Ping repeatedly returned, treating the trial as a means to improve his combat skills. He later discovered that its phantom opponents had developed independent life. 238 241 252

After uncovering that higher powers had repeatedly manipulated his identities, memories, Divine Ability seals, and cultivation opportunities, Wang Ping rejected both passive survival and the restricted Corpse-Liberated Immortal path offered by others. He forced his way into the Heavenly Craft Cave Abode to pursue the Wood Qi True Person and a path toward freedom from the True Persons’ schemes. 289 300 308 309

Wang Ping later refined a second Immortal Physique and began assembling the foundations of a Five-Elements Immortal Body while strengthening his self-created Martial Dao. As an Immortal Realm Daoist Scion, he was assigned to infiltrate the perilous Burial-Star Sand Sea, where Lian Ruzhao and four Martial Great Grandmasters began guiding him toward a new route from Martial Great Grandmaster to Martial Saint. 320 321 397

Before this mission, he recruited eight Inner Sect Disciples by promising to help them survive their Life Tribulations and become Corpse-Liberated Immortals. His clone supported an ambush against Brahma Cultivators and repeatedly fought Treasure Gourd, while his true body cultivated a Water Qi Divine Ability in secret. Wang Ping broke through to the Third Tribulation Realm by using When the Gentleman Conceals His Instrument to resist the Earth-Bearing Myriad Gods Diagram’s lockdown and drawing his successive lives into the Hibernating Dragon Kun Destiny Form. He subsequently witnessed Kunlun sacrifice himself to extinguish Earth-Yang Fire and left the Heavenly Craft Cave Abode as the True Persons descended into the world. 344 345 357

After gaining the Water Qi True Lord’s backing, Wang Ping became a Water Qi Daoist Scion. Life-Slayer pursued him through Cosmic Deep Space, seeking both his conversion and the recovery of the Seven Sons Heart-Linked Gourd. Wang Ping escaped one suppression with the Complete Melody Life-Preservation Pill, only to discover that Jing Lang was interfering with its effects. 374 382 385 386

Inside the Eight Trigrams Furnace, Wang Ping turned pursuit by six Qi Refiners into a killing trap. He detonated treasures, manipulated the battlefield’s changing Five-Element forces, exploited the pursuers’ Dao foundations, and used Heaven’s Will Wields the Profound Blade against Jing Lang. With assistance from Lian Ruzhao and eight Corpse-Liberated Immortals, he completed the victory and raised the six dead pursuers as Yin Spirits. The result shocked cultivators throughout the Immortal Sect. 406

Wang Ping subsequently entered the affairs of the Nonaction Unchanging Dao Ground. After hostile cultivators attempted to kill him as material for Profound Art Immortal-Falling Sand, he obtained Yin Spirits who supplied information about the Dao Ground’s cultivation system. He later returned with twelve Yin Spirits, released Qi Sifeng so that Yi Xuangong could revive him, and raised Yongxiu to investigate the Lord of Esoteric Traces. 414 415 433

Seeking a stronger foundation than Corpse Liberation, Wang Ping transferred his Destiny Form and Divine Abilities into a prepared body and returned to the Third Tribulation Realm before pursuing Qi Refinement during his Life Tribulation. His Charge Talisman Merit Deed supplied cultivation insight. Through the Spirit Transformation Realm’s Dao Transmission Tower, he acquired additional Earth Yin Water Great Divine Abilities and used the Treasury of Earthly Splendor and Heavenly Treasures to open the Hundred-Treasure Storehouse. The hidden imagery of his newly obtained bow and arrows revealed the Profound Arts Supreme Dao Lord’s third path, Lake-Fire Revolution. 428 433

Under the Ancient Cultivators’ guidance, Wang Ping exploited Transformation’s trial by excavating the world embodied in his Dharma Body. The materials he removed represented Water Qi Aspects and accelerated his mastery. Although warned that pursuing all nine Qi Aspects would provoke lethal backlash, he intended to use his importance to the True Lords’ plans to force their assistance. He was later confirmed to have mastered nine Qi Aspects and killed Yi Shentong to advance to the Second Level of Qi Refinement. 437 451

Wang Ping also investigated the Waterworks Bureau and recognized a project jointly undertaken by the Human Sovereign and Heaven-Flag Amnesty True Lord to establish five God Sovereign positions through the Five-Thunder Divine Firmament Palace. The Heaven-Stealing Thief identified the body Wang Ping used there as a product of the Life-Soul Separation Method. 452 453

Before negotiating over the Hundred-Treasure Storehouse imagery, Wang Ping used the Mysterious Pheasant and Great Expansion Missing-One Disc to simulate possible developments. In the simulation, he selected the Northern Palace Divine Edge from Tian Xing’s offered Mystic Artifacts, but Chu Huaijing subsequently suppressed his Immortal Dao cultivation and drained his lifespan. Even though the scenario was a simulation, waking from it activated his Book of Cyclical Renewal and Life Substitution and consumed ten pages. 457

As the Heaven-Reversing Palace’s emergence approached, Wang Ping developed the Dharma Body Dao with the secret assistance of Nurturing and Assimilation. He learned that Principle, Disaster, and Transformation favored Great Rebellion and might prefer his temporary death and withdrawal from the larger struggle. With the existence of a path founder in the Heaven-Reversing Palace now widely known, Wang Ping needed to conceal that founder’s identity while displaying sufficient strength to avoid suspicion. His Clear Aspect body advanced rapidly to Third Heaven-breaking combat strength and fought Gu Han on terms that temporarily brought both to the Fourth Heaven-breaking level. He subsequently joined Assimilation in approaching Heavenly Hou to borrow something needed for their plans. 463 464 465

Appearance

Wang Ping’s original appearance is that of a young man in his twenties. His cultivation has repeatedly altered his body, eventually making his physical form far from conventionally human. 8 96

Personality

Wang Ping is intensely pragmatic. When orthodox immortality appeared inaccessible, he immediately redirected his ambitions toward martial arts; when martial power later proved insufficient, he returned to immortal cultivation without treating either path as sacred. 8 37

He is opportunistic, shameless when necessary, and exceptionally willing to deceive stronger opponents. He accepts dangerous masters, adopts fabricated identities, uses partial truths to recruit allies, and will publicly feign weakness when it improves his odds of victory. 2 115 150 321

Despite his self-interest, Wang Ping forms genuine attachments. He protects Su Ya rather than abandoning her after obtaining Chen Haoyan’s inheritance, saves Liu Ye from Xu Bingzheng’s control, and refuses to treat the people tied to him as disposable merely because he can resurrect. 26 31 33

His caution deepens as he learns how often higher cultivators manipulate him. By later arcs, he distrusts coincidences, hidden inheritances, masters, sects, and even his own obscured memories. 139 298 300

Although he has grown into an Immortal Realm Daoist Scion, Wang Ping recognizes that his pursuit of immortal cultivation has weakened the desperate blade intent that originally empowered his Martial Dao. He is therefore willing to consider creating an entirely new martial path rather than merely preserving his former techniques. 397

His caution does not prevent calculated audacity. When his importance to stronger powers gives him leverage, he threatens his own usefulness or survival to extract assistance. His plan to master all nine Qi Aspects deliberately relies on the True Lords being unwilling to let their indispensable pawn die from the resulting backlash. 289 437

Wang Ping remains strongly attached to his martial identity even after entering Qi Refinement. Wearing armor and carrying weapons makes him feel more like himself than adopting conventional immortal attire. He distinguishes factional disagreement from personal betrayal. On learning that the Ancient Cultivators do not share a single political interest, he treats their divisions as natural and asks for transparency rather than condemning the entire group. 462

Its disguises can be exceptionally effective: the Great Bliss Wisdom King’s examination of Wang Ping’s past, present, and future reveals the life of the Six-Eared Orphan rather than exposing Wang Ping directly.
