Suppressing the Demons

"Brother Ao, is the Dragon Abyss divided into many levels?" Hearing their conversation, Shen Luo's interest stirred, and he spoke to Ao Hong through voice transmission.

"The Dragon Abyss has nine levels in all. This is the first. The deeper you go, the stronger the demons imprisoned there become. That Abyssal Giant Demon was originally held on the eighth level," Ao Hong said.

Shen Luo nodded slightly at his words.

Next, they began inspecting the cells from the first one onward. All manner of demons were imprisoned inside, most of them Waterfolk monsters.

Restrictions laid over the cell doors blocked Divine Sense, preventing them from probing the demons' auras. But from their appearance alone, Shen Luo could tell that these creatures were far from weak. Most were around the Out-of-Body Stage.

Some of the demons were utterly exhausted and enfeebled, ignoring Shen Luo and the others. Others remained as savage as ever and roared incessantly at them.

Shen Luo observed the demons closely. They were all ordinary demonic creatures, and most possessed only rudimentary intelligence, like wild beasts. There was no way to communicate with them.

"These caves seem to have restrictions only at their entrances. What material is this black rock made of, that it can keep these demons from escaping through the stone walls inside?" He sighed inwardly, patted the black rock wall outside one of the cells, and asked Ao Hong through voice transmission.

"This stone is called black sinking stone, an ore unique to our East Sea. It is incomparably hard and blocks the transmission of all energy.
