Background / History

Ning Rongrong entered Shrek Academy alongside Tang San and Xiao Wu. She quickly became close friends with Xiao Wu, though her privileged upbringing showed in her disdain for the academy cafeteria’s poor food and her refusal to participate in Yu Xiaogang’s stone-carrying endurance training 7 19.

During the first Star Dou Forest expedition, she repeatedly questioned Dai Mubai about Zhu Zhuqing and openly suggested that Zhuqing might accept another woman at his side. Her interest in Dai Mubai deepened into love, prompting her to write to Ning Fengzhi and request the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect’s help in Dai Mubai’s succession struggle 9 43.

Ning Fengzhi refused her request because the sect supported the Heaven Dou Empire and could not openly interfere in Star Luo’s imperial succession. His declaration that she and Dai Mubai were “impossible” devastated her, and she attempted to leave Shrek Academy to find Dai Mubai herself 44.

Dai Mubai later negotiated with Ning Fengzhi for her freedom to attend Star Luo Royal Academy. Ning Rongrong is initially spoiled, outspoken, and accustomed to comfort. She complains freely about poor meals and rejects training she considers beneath a Soul Master, such as carrying stones while running 7 19.

She is also curious and proactive, often inserting herself into conversations and teasing Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing about their relationship. Her attempts to learn Dai Mubai’s dual cultivation method show both her boldness and her romantic interest in him 9 21.
