Background / History
Ron transmigrated into Ideal City and survived as a poor student in District D, balancing intense study with part-time work and cheap nutrient paste. Initially registered as Lv.0 with ineffective Telekinesis, he faced vocational education, corporate debt, and a future as disposable labor after repeatedly failing to awaken a viable ability. 1
After discovering the Dimensional Update Manual, Ron unlocked the settings Mysticism and Potions, retroactively establishing the Potion Era. He spent months charging a transformed occult book with his weak Telekinesis until an old necromancer’s attack supplied the supernatural energy needed to activate it. Ron entered the Potion Era and awakened imprisoned in the Scorched Earth Sanctuary. 1
Within the prison, Ron acquired Magic Vision, discovered that its mundane façade concealed Corpse Shells and a living Limb Cage, and awakened Fantasy Dissolution to erase mystical phenomena. He killed a Corpse Shell, obtained a Wronged Dead’s finger bone, and learned the ingredients for the Sequence 9 Gravekeeper Potion. 2
Ron exploited Kurt Mendes’s belief that he was an Angel, securing a consecrated item and a promise to deliver Kurt’s message to Idrila, the Evening Bell Saint. He then returned to Ideal City, commandeered the old necromancer’s Corpse Shell, killed the magician, and inherited access to his signet ring, spell archive, and Necromancer School association. 3 4
After becoming a Gravekeeper, Ron’s Death-pathway power nearly drove him into loss of control. He instead applied the dangerous Beyonder Loss of Control setting to his Telekinesis, producing the unstable but vastly stronger Vector Manipulation. Deng Yin later identified him as a late-awakening “Raw Stone” and began training him to control the ability. 5 6 9 10
Ron won Ideal City’s reformed College Entrance Examination despite entering as a Lv.2 contender. He defeated Noah Pharmaceuticals’ modified assassin Beck, then overcame the Lv.3 Gravity Control user Yuan Hansen by using Ability Overload and Vector Manipulation, taking first place and securing his path to Moen University. 30 33 34
Following the examination, Ron learned that advancement beyond Lv.3 requires Sector Authority from Ideal City’s Central Intelligent Brain. Deng Yin and Irina identified him as a potential contender for the vacant Prometheus authority, provided he reaches Lv.3, creates an Ability Formula, ranks first in Moen University’s Physics Department, and survives a Knowledge-Seeking Experiment. 36 37
Ron later joined the Patrol Bureau and investigated Ark’s Ability Enhancement Plan, which offers District D residents cheap awakenings but leaves them dependent on Ability Needles and liable to mutate into Void Monsters. Witnessing this exploitation deepened his understanding of the Gravekeeper role: protecting the dead from further indignity. 45 47 48
Appearance
Ron is a young man whose ordinary student appearance causes others to underestimate him. His gentle, youthful face and poor District D clothing contrast sharply with the destructive force of Vector Manipulation. 9 35
- Usually dresses plainly and avoids expensive displays despite later corporate support. 35
- Wears a silver-white Ability Limiter or later Ability Amplifier around his neck, often hidden beneath his collar. 10 39
- Can assume the hunched, gaunt appearance of the dead necromancer “Master” Karen through Thousand Faces. 20
Personality
Ron is analytical, self-improving, and intensely pragmatic. Even while powerless, he could identify tactical openings in dangerous situations, though he initially lacked the strength to exploit them. His response was not resignation but relentless study, experimentation, and calculated risk-taking. 1 7 8
He is cautious about institutions and dislikes becoming dependent on corporations, universities, or wealthy patrons. Although he accepts resources from Deng Yin, the Patrol Bureau, and Heavenly Hearing Media, he consistently seeks independent leverage and conceals abilities that might turn him into corporate research material. 20 30 40
Ron is also an adept improviser. He lets Kurt believe he is an Angel, impersonates Master Karen to infiltrate the Magic community, and stages his own assassination to claim the bounty placed on him. 3 20 24
Despite his ruthlessness toward direct threats, Ron retains a strong moral reaction to the abuse of powerless people. Ark and Noah Pharmaceuticals’ experiments on District D residents push him from investigation toward a personal resolve to stop the project and protect the victims’ remains. 22 47 48
Abilities & Skills
Dimensional Update Manual
A reality-altering system that allows Ron to create and load settings, change professions, enter World Saves, and extract new settings from encounters or concepts. 1 2
- Created the Potion Era by unlocking the Mysticism and Potions settings. 1
- Opens gateways to World Saves; time in an unloaded World Save remains frozen until Ron returns. 3
- Generates a context-appropriate temporary identity when he enters another world. 16
- Can load and unload professions and settings to avoid contamination, restore damaged states, or change his capabilities. 6 34
- Requires Ron to manage incompatibilities between the Superpowered Era, the Potion Era, and Void-related influences. 16 36
Vector Manipulation
Ron’s late-awakening Raw Stone ability, originating from Telekinesis but possessing a far more complex Ability Model. It manipulates physical vectors within his Personal Reality. 7 9
- Alters gravity, momentum, air flow, light, and electromagnetic forces. 7 19
- Can launch touched objects with firearm-like force even under severe restriction. 10
- Reverses or cancels incoming forces, including wind, projectiles, and Gravity Control effects. 25 28 33
- Can manipulate blood flow at close range, though capable opponents can counter it. 14 33
- Uses debris, sand, Iron Sand, and environmental objects as high-speed projectiles. 28 30
- Its effective range expanded from centimeters to roughly a one-meter diameter after Ron reached Lv.2. 19
- Excessive use overloads his processing power and can cause dizziness, fever, collapse, or uncontrolled environmental destruction. 6 7 31
Ability Overload
A dangerous setting that unlocks and optimizes an ability’s full potential at the cost of computational collapse. 19 31
- Enabled Ron to produce a short-lived vector storm strong enough to overwhelm Yuan’s Lv.3 Gravity Control and Formula. 33 34
- Can be tested safely in Simulated Reality, where Ron can reset through a Resurrection Coin. 31
- Ron can unload it alongside Beyonder Loss of Control, reverting to controllable Telekinesis before the computational backlash fully incapacitates him. 34
Death Pathway
Ron is a Death-pathway Beyonder who first became a Sequence 9 Gravekeeper and later advanced to Sequence 8 Undertaker. 5 21 22
- Commands mindless Corpse Shells through Ignorant Servant. 4
- Uses Necromantic Fire, which is substantially stronger than the signet-ring imitation used by ordinary Magic users. 6
- Gains affinity with the dead, enhanced physical ability, and resistance to death-related powers. 6 22
- Can create corpse-servant mice for reconnaissance and remote distraction. 16
- Requires Potion digestion through the Acting Method; acting as a Gravekeeper and Corpse Collector reduces loss of control. 41 48
- Mixing different Potion Sequences risks madness, mutation, and catastrophic power conflict. 41
Fantasy Dissolution
An anti-mystical setting that strips supernatural phenomena of their extraordinary nature. 2
- Erased a Corpse Shell into ash and destroyed the prison’s Limb Cage. 2 3
- Neutralizes mystical contamination, illusions, gray mist, and Void-corrupted objects. 17 35 43
- Is especially effective against Mysticism Influence, making Ron unusually valuable to the Anti-Mystery Equation’s supporters. 35 36
- Suffers characteristic damage whenever it confronts strong mysticism and can become temporarily unusable. 2 3 36
Magic Vision
Granted by Ashes of the Age of Gods, Magic Vision allows Ron to perceive hidden mystical structures and magical signatures. 2
- Reveals concealed mystical entities, including Limb Cages, Corpse Shells, magical shackles, and supernatural radiance. 2
- Distinguished the old necromancer’s signet ring as technology rather than a genuine magical item. 4
- Helped Ron determine that a criminal’s green flames came from an Ability Model rather than necromancy. 46
Thousand Faces
A disguise setting used to assume another person’s appearance. 20
- Allows Ron to impersonate Master Karen and access the Necromancer School network. 20
- Helped him stage a false photograph of his own assassination for Noah Pharmaceuticals’ anonymous client. 24
Analysis, Deception, and Investigation
Ron’s unusually high computational ability and two lifetimes of experience make him a fast tactical thinker and effective manipulator. 1 43
- Reads enemy habits and identifies exploitable weaknesses, including Beck’s vulnerability to high-frequency sound. 30
- Uses deliberate performances to obtain information, including posing as an Angel and as Master Karen. 3 20
- Draws information from criminals through calculated intimidation and familiarity with District D gangs. 47
- Studies exam footage, scoring mechanics, and rivals before acting rather than relying on direct confrontation. 28 29
