Background

Sasuke grew up under the protection and guidance of his elder brother, Itachi. After Itachi killed five Uchiha members and fled Konoha as an S-rank rogue ninja, Sasuke refused to believe his brother had murdered without reason. He repeatedly sought answers from Kakashi, who promised to reveal the truth gradually as Sasuke became stronger. 50 56

At Itachi’s request, Kakashi became Sasuke’s guardian and mentor. Their relationship grew close enough that Sasuke stopped calling him “Lord Kakashi” and began calling him simply “Kakashi.” Kakashi trained him in ninjutsu and physical conditioning, gave him an ANBU-quality ninja-tool set for graduating from the Academy, and took responsibility for protecting him from Orochimaru. 52

His confidence can become recklessness. Under Orochimaru’s Curse Mark, he enjoys the power it grants and nearly loses himself to brutality while attacking Zaku.
