Background

Naruto grew up isolated and impoverished in Konoha because the village regarded him as the “Demon Fox.” He was monitored by ANBU and openly rejected by civilians, including a restaurant owner who attempted to drive him away 28.

Kakashi Hatake chose to intervene in Naruto’s life despite fearing that doing so would alter the future. He offered Naruto friendship, food, and protection, later taking responsibility for his surveillance arrangements 27 28.
