Background / History

Lu Mi previously lived under the identity of Lu Xiaojiu. Official death records and a memorial portrait recorded Lu Xiaojiu as dead, allowing Lu Mi to assume his present identity. Five years before the events at Calamity Planet, Lan Xiao secretly ordered Yu Tu to kill Lu Xiaojiu; whether Yu Tu acted freely or while controlled remains unresolved. 48 62

After arriving on Calamity Planet as a Diamond-Grade Energy Master, Lu Mi was transferred to First Prison as deputy warden. He openly humiliated the corrupt warden Ren Chong and later suppressed a prison riot that killed Ren Chong and 263 inmates. Yan Mei subsequently appointed Lu Mi as First Prison's warden. Ming Qiuxue suspected that Lu Mi had deliberately engineered the riot to remove Ren Chong and secure the position, but chose to respect his success rather than expose him. 171

Lu Mi was formerly Yu Tu's lover. He believed Yu Tu had abandoned him on a garbage planet and later pierced his abdomen with the Violet Slaughter Vine, leaving him near death. The betrayal shapes Lu Mi's bitterness and distrust when Yu Tu is transferred to Calamity Planet as prisoner 0456. 5 12

As First Prison's warden, Lu Mi intercepts Yu Tu's scheduled transfer to Second Prison and claims jurisdiction over him. He initially frames this as revenge and prison authority, but immediately intervenes when Yu Tu is injured, dehydrated, and mentally unstable. 5 6

Yu Tu's apparent memory loss and abnormal condition gradually undermine Lu Mi's belief that he is deliberately lying. Lu Mi learns that Yu Tu arrived without his Diamond-Grade Energy Crystal, with only two months of memories, and was likely subjected to experiments involving a lethal dose of Desire Compound. 12 18 27

After Yu Tu's memories begin returning, Lu Mi learns more of the circumstances behind their separation, Yu Tu's exploitation by Lan Xiao, and the political forces that targeted both of them. Although devastated by the possibility that Yu Tu once harmed Lu Xiaojiu, Lu Mi ultimately chooses to judge Yu Tu by his present self rather than condemn him for actions that may have been the result of manipulation. 62 120

Appearance

Lu Mi is a handsome, white-haired man with black eyes, a lean but defined build, and an intimidating warden's presence. He usually wears First Prison's officer uniform with black leather gloves and boots. 1 5 16

Lu Mi is cold, sarcastic, territorial, and feared by prisoners and officers alike. He maintains control through threats, violence, and a carefully cultivated reputation for brutal interrogations. He is also willing to manipulate evidence or bypass procedure when he believes someone deserves punishment. 5 33 41

He is a capable strategist who sees through political deception quickly. He joins Ming Qiuxue's F Plan, stages their rivalry to protect its secrecy, investigates the conspiracy around Yu Tu, and openly defies transfer orders from higher authorities. 18 38 43

Lu Mi is ambitious and calculating beneath his abrasive exterior. His rise to First Prison's wardenship, his later battlefield command, and his role in conquering and stabilizing enemy territories demonstrate that he is not merely a powerful fighter but a capable military leader. 171 119 120

Around Yu Tu, Lu Mi's severity repeatedly gives way to possessiveness, jealousy, care, and fear of loss. He disguises protection as prison discipline, but eventually publicly acknowledges both his claim over Yu Tu and his love for him. 16 42 50

Rescue from Second Prison

While Lu Mi is away, Yu Tu is transferred to Second Prison and tortured for days in an attempt to force out his vine power. Lu Mi returns, attacks Qi An in fury, removes Yu Tu from the interrogation room, and brings him back to First Prison despite his own critical injuries. 39 40

Open Defiance and Rebellion

After uncovering Peter's surveillance and the Slave-Driving Eye conspiracy, Lu Mi openly refuses orders to transfer Yu Tu to Third Prison. He supports Ming Qiuxue against the imperial authorities, leads First Prison's officers into rebellion, and reveals his identity as Lu Xiaojiu. 42 43 48

Public Confession

During the battle against the Prison Directorate and Imperial Army, Tian Chi insults Yu Tu as a disposable pet. Lu Mi publicly declares that Yu Tu is the person he loves, ending his effort to hide their relationship. 50

Escape to Little Seven Castle

When the Imperial Army surrounds Shelter No. 1, Lu Mi organizes the prison officers to defend their allies and secure an escape route for Yu Tu, Lan Su, Cang Qi, Rete, and Vicks. The survivors ultimately enter Little Seven Castle, where Lu Mi continues caring for Yu Tu while adapting to the castle's strange systems and the beginning of Freedom Star's resistance. 57 59 60

Separation and Reunion

During the war for Freedom Star's independence, Yu Tu sacrifices himself to confront Imperial forces and disappears after a catastrophic battle. Lu Mi feels Yu Tu's suffering through their Partner Mark, falls into grief during Yu Tu's three-year absence, and refuses to accept that he is truly gone. 89

Lu Mi later discovers that the Ninth Army commander Bai Jiu is Yu Tu in disguise. He exploits Freedom Star law to arrest Bai Jiu, forcing Yu Tu to confront their separation. Their reunion resolves Lu Mi's anger and grief, and Yu Tu finally gives him a direct confession of love. 93 94
