After the group’s leadership changed three years earlier, its methods escalated from poison attacks to human sacrifices and the exploitation of supernatural artifacts. Lei’s forces uncovered several sacrifice sites and arrested more than ten thousand people, but remained locked in a costly stalemate with the organization 111.

As the Human-Deity Group’s activities intensified, Lei began investigating Shui Wuyuan, He Qinglan, and the Mountain Shaman.
