Gloomwind Gorge

It took nearly twice as long as expected for the group to finally reach Gloomwind Gorge. They weren't moving slowly; they had been forced to take a winding route to evade the Demon Spirit Masters pursuing them.

"Gloomwind Gorge is just ahead. One more push, and we'll be inside." Pang Xing could already see the vast gorge in the distance. It was impossible to mistake: cold winds blew in gusts, thin clouds of mist drifted overhead, and eerie wails rose from the valley now and then, carried on a wind that chilled them to the bone.

Huo Hai led the group swiftly into Gloomwind Gorge. The ground inside was treacherous and difficult to cross. Even someone with control over his body as precise as Huo Hai's had trouble adapting.

Sharp rocks frequently jutted from the ground. A careless brush against an edge could leave a cut. With someone on his back, Huo Hai had even more to watch out for.

Not long after they entered Gloomwind Gorge, a group of black-clad figures reached its entrance in pursuit. A large number of Demonfolk came with them, while more Demon Spirit Masters continued to arrive behind them.

"They went inside. What do we do?" The Demon Spirit Masters lingered at the entrance, hesitant to enter. Seeing their reaction through his Star Gu, Huo Hai had a bad feeling. Perhaps Gloomwind Gorge was not as simple as he had imagined. If so many Demon Spirit Masters were afraid to enter, what danger lay inside?

Could there be a Spirit Beast at the Spirit General Realm? Huo Hai frowned but kept moving, widening the distance between the group and the Demon Spirit Masters.

"This is Gloomwind Gorge. It's too dangerous. Now that they're inside, they probably won't come out. Why don't we head back?"
