Resolving the Crisis

After a long explanation, Li You finally understood what had happened to him. Seeing how concerned everyone was and the tear tracks on his brother's face, he was deeply moved.

The two brothers were especially grateful to Huo Hai. If Huo Hai had not been there, Li Yuan might have had no choice but to watch his younger brother slowly die before his eyes. Li You had exhausted much of his Mental Power earlier and was tired now. He needed some rest before he could recover. With the poison no longer hindering him, his spirits were gradually improving.

"Thank you, Hai. If you ever need me to do anything, just say the word." Li You still had faint memories of what had happened. He had not been completely unaware. Thinking back on it now brought cold sweat to his face.

He never wanted to experience that feeling of losing control of himself, or of being drawn into it, again.

Huo Hai waved a hand. "It's nothing. We're brothers, aren't we? By the way, what did you eat earlier? How did you get poisoned?" Poison could not enter someone's body for no reason. It had to come from somewhere.

Li You thought back. "I didn't eat anything unusual. I ate the same things as everyone else. There's nothing else to eat around here, and you said the other Spirit Beasts were poisonous, so we didn't touch them. As for water, I drank from my own flask. Take a look. Could there be something wrong with it?" He took out his flask and handed it to Huo Hai.

That was right. They had all eaten the same food, cut from the same piece of meat and seasoned with the same spices. It made no sense for only Li You to be poisoned.
