Background / History

Huo Hai refines Little Gold through an original Gu process, forcing selected insects to devour one another after stimulating them with medicinal herbs. He uses his own blood as the basis for master recognition and replaces the usual repeated blood-feeding process with spiritual energy. The surviving creation hatches as a golden centipede with small wings, a spiritual bond to Huo Hai, and basic awareness 8.

After the centipede consumes its cocoon and grows to finger thickness, Huo Hai names it Little Gold. He feeds it medicinal plants, spiritual energy, and poisonous insects, while Huo Yuner later assists by catching insects for it. This regimen advances Little Gold to the Spirit Body Realm and strengthens both its venom and body 9.

Little Gold becomes Huo Hai's first practical Gu weapon. It scouts the He Family estate, locates the medicine storehouse by sensing spiritual medicines, tunnels beneath a cabinet, and secretly transports twenty bottles of Body Tempering Pills out of the compound 10.

During the Southern Mountain trial, Little Gold consumes captured poison, continues gathering strength, and ultimately kills the Spirit Practitioner Realm Ironclad Hound King by biting its unprotected paw and injecting its entire store of venom 23 37 38. After the trial, it remains Huo Hai's only available protector while the Star Gu undergo metamorphosis, scouting the warehouse where Huo Yuner is held hostage and detecting the violent spiritual energy of the hidden Explosive Spirit Stones 43 47.

Appearance

Little Gold resembles a golden centipede with a pair of disproportionately small wings. Despite its dangerous nature, Huo Hai and Huo Yuner find its finger-thick form more adorable than ferocious 8 9.

It is not inherently hostile toward people Huo Hai does not regard as enemies. Huo Hai specifically orders it never to harm Huo Yuner, and it later shows no aggression toward Ji Mu because of her relationship with its master 9 38 39.
