Facing the increasingly frenzied soldiers, Huo Hai said nothing. He kept swinging his sword and charging forward. Though the soldiers had grown more frantic, without anyone coordinating the battle, the pressure they put on him was nowhere near what it had been before.
There were no experts left, no war machines to support them, and even the archers' commanders had all died in Huo Hai's recent attack. Now, he essentially only had to face the soldiers immediately around him. Their formations were ragged. Though cutting his way through was still difficult, he continued moving outward, one step at a time.
If this continued, he would eventually have a chance to leave the Spirit-Banning Formation's range. Once his spiritual power returned, even slaughtering every soldier would be easy. The few officers left in the army understood how the situation was developing.
But there was nothing they could do. Their voices were not loud enough to carry across the battlefield, so they could only command nearby soldiers. The messengers had already died earlier, and overall command had now collapsed completely.
The more Huo Hai killed, the more natural the sword felt in his hand. Using Snake Step, he moved as his blade hissed through the air. With each thrust, another soldier's throat was pierced straight through his armor.
As more and more soldiers fell around him, Huo Hai suddenly felt a rush of exhilaration. All the frustration of being suppressed earlier poured out. At that moment, he suddenly felt that he had grasped something. His sword movements had barely changed, yet their power had increased. As though something had clicked into place, he swung his sword faster and faster.
At that moment, the sword seemed to come alive. Huo Hai knew that his Spirit-Infused Swordsmanship had finally broken through to the Greater
