Although he was still a little uneasy, after some thought, Huo Hai released Little Butterfly and the Star Gu. It would not be easy to figure out the surroundings here all by himself.
A moment later, the Star Gu sent back word. Huo Hai linked his vision to theirs and finally saw what the things around him that gave him a sense of danger were. A strange creature, white all over-no, translucent, like a jellyfish-bobbed up and down in the air. It looked as though it were swimming through water, an eerie sight.
Huo Hai narrowed his eyes slightly. "Why does this thing look so much like the Ghost Insect from back then?" He recalled the Ghost Insect he had caught before. It, too, had taken the form of a jellyfish floating in the air, but it had not been this large.
It also had fewer tentacles, and they had not been this long. Perhaps these two creatures belonged to the same species, or perhaps they had simply evolved in similar directions. Overall, however, they did not seem entirely alike.
At the very least, although the Ghost Insect possessed powerful mental power, it used a mixture of deathly aura and spiritual energy, primarily to control undead creatures. These things, however, did not rely on deathly aura. Huo Hai could sense none, nor had he found any signs of undead activity nearby. There was not a trace of evil about the giant jellyfish, yet it felt profoundly strange and unsettling.
"The second-level Spirit King realm? Go test its strength." At Huo Hai's command, several Star Gu immediately charged toward the jellyfish. Their bodies flashed past, piercing several holes through it in the blink of an eye.
