The Huo Family is a relatively young Western Frontier Lineage founded through martial strength. Internal Strife

Dispute over the “Concealed Weapon Technique”

Huo Yan gathers younger members and sympathetic elders to pressure Huo Kai into sharing the supposed secret art. They accuse the direct line of hoarding it to suppress collateral branches. 44

Huo Kai denies that it is a family technique, stating that Huo Hai created it himself. When the challengers persist, he uses his superior Spirit Practitioner Realm cultivation and Sword Qi to force their retreat, injuring an elder and considering a future purge of disloyal members. 44

Conspiracy against Huo Hai

After the failed challenge, Huo Yan allies with He Ya of the He Family. They plan to abduct Huo Yuner, use her to force Huo Hai to surrender the supposed technique, and kill him with Explosive Spirit Stones. He Ya privately intends to betray Huo Yan after the plot succeeds. 45

Huo Hai rescues Huo Yuner and returns with more than ten thousand Explosive Spirit Stones recovered from the kidnappers' warehouse. Huo Kai concludes that the abduction required collusion between outside forces and an internal traitor, then orders a thorough investigation. 50

The family debates allocation of its academy recommendation slot. Huo Hai gives up his claim to compete personally, allowing Huo Yuner to enter through the recommendation. 18 19

Huo Hai's ten-thousand-point Academy result draws intense outside attention. The family benefits materially and politically from its new reputation, but it also becomes burdened by visitors, rumors, and schemes surrounding the nonexistent family concealed-weapon art. 43

Huo Yan's faction openly challenges Huo Kai over the supposed technique. Huo Kai defeats the challenge through force, recognizing that the Lineage's surface unity has been compromised by ambition and greed. 44

Kidnapping conspiracy

The Huo Yan–He Ya conspiracy targets Huo Yuner to lure Huo Hai into a lethal explosive trap. Her rescue reveals a threat capable of killing the direct descendants and potentially devastating the entire Lineage, placing the Huo Family on the brink of wider conflict in the Western Frontier. 45 47 48 50
