Background

The Life Goddess chose Su Mu as her successor after observing his healing martial soul, his travels, and the people he had treated. She judged his merit and character suitable for the Life divine position, and moved early to secure him before another god could claim him. 6

She summoned Su Mu's consciousness to a separate divine space and bestowed the Life Divine Examination, promising that completion would allow him to inherit her divine position. She delayed its first test until after the Soul Master Tournament and implied that the inheritance could involve marriage and descendants. 6

When the Destruction God King proposed Su Mu as a successor for Destruction as well, she initially worried that destructive power could harm him. After Su Mu successfully awakened the Destruction Angel, she continued supporting his simultaneous Life and Destruction trials. 7

She is one of the God Realm Committee's five Great God Kings. Finding a suitable successor would allow her to leave the Divine Realm, but she also wanted her husband to secure an inheritor so that they could leave together. Her interest in Su Mu having descendants is connected to the many other gods seeking successors of their own. 6 7 26 33

When abnormal energy fluctuations began spreading along the Divine Realm's edge, she offered to help investigate. The Destruction God King instead asked her to remain behind and protect Su Mu while he joined the other God Kings and first-rank gods. 56

Appearance

The Life Goddess appears as a sacred, gentle woman whose presence evokes vitality and renewal. 6

Personality

The Life Goddess is ordinarily gentle, affectionate, and encouraging toward Su Mu. She praises him readily, calls him “Xiao Mu,” and later insists on the more intimate “Little Mu-Mu” despite his objections. 6 19

Her attachment to Su Mu also gives her a playful, bored, and occasionally petulant side. She follows his affairs through the mark she placed within him, complains when he cuts off their connection, and once suggested descending to the lower realm to become his seventh teammate. 12 21 34

Despite her mild disposition, she becomes fiercely protective when Su Mu is threatened. Upon learning that Bi Ji had captured him, she immediately prepared to descend and punish those responsible; however, she accepted Su Mu's explanation and spared Bi Ji at his request. 25 26

She takes considerable pride in her knowledge and status. When Su Mu suggests that Destruction might understand Martial Soul Fusion Skills better, she becomes indignant and resolves to demonstrate her competence by teaching Bibi Dong personally. Nevertheless, once instruction begins, she treats the cultivation process seriously and responsibly. 43 44

Her protectiveness can extend to retaliation against insults. She secretly punishes Tang Hao for belittling Su Mu and later enjoys beating both Tang Hao and Tang Chen when they threaten his group. She describes the latter encounter as a rare opportunity to fight, since she has virtually no enemies or opportunities to beat anyone in the Divine Realm. 58 59 68

She acts as a mischievous matchmaker for Su Mu and Bibi Dong, manipulating the appearance of Bibi Dong's fusion skill and falsely attributing the change to Su Mu. She hopes to advance their romantic relationship and imagines them eventually having children. 45

Although she openly enjoys teasing Su Mu in private, she carefully preserves a dignified, mysterious image before outsiders. She is embarrassed by accusations of “peeping,” insists that her surveillance is protective observation, and fears that other gods would laugh at her if they learned about it. The gods' appearances during the forest confrontation were not their true bodies, but manifestations carrying a portion of their power. Even this limited presence was sufficient to leave Di Tian and the other ferocious beasts completely outmatched. 26

She can also manifest independently. A projection appears beside Su Mu and Bibi Dong to guide Bibi Dong's fusion, while her later personal descent supplies the assistance needed for Su Mu's own fusion. 44 75 76

Martial Soul Fusion Assistance

The Life Goddess can guide the harmonization of Martial Soul Origins and supply divine power to stabilize the process.

• Instructed Bibi Dong to relax and attempt to merge the origins of the Death Spider Emperor and Soul Devouring Spider Emperor without forcing their resistance. 44

The Destruction God King tells Su Mu that there is presently no effective method to block her observation, since she is a God King capable of circumventing restrictions. She asks Su Mu to keep her secret surveillance confidential because its discovery could cause trouble. 27 56

The Life Goddess can strike lower-realm opponents without revealing herself to them.

Protective Life Marks and Divine Barrier

She can bestow emerald-green life marks capable of blocking one fatal blow. She places one on Bibi Dong and one on Ah Yin as thanks for procuring storybooks. These protective gifts are distinct from the mark used to communicate with and observe Su Mu. 12 88

She also maintains a divine power barrier around the sleeping Su Mu, preventing disturbance and slowing the passage of time inside. Approximately an hour outside corresponds to only about five minutes within the barrier; it disappears when she leaves. 88

Restorative Pill

The Life Goddess possesses a restorative pill previously obtained from the Dragon Clan. She describes it as capable of bringing the dead back to life and regenerating flesh from bone, and keeps it as an emergency measure. Its stated drawback is that it might not preserve a male recipient's male body. No use of the pill is shown in that discussion. 56

Through her mark, the Life Goddess observes Bibi Dong's absorption of immortal herbs and reveals the competing divine powers targeting her. She later guides Su Mu's own herb absorption, assists his body tempering, and encourages his exploration of martial soul fusion. 12 14

Star Dou Great Forest Conflict

When Bi Ji captures Su Mu as leverage for the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, the Life Goddess reacts with unusual fury and descends with the God of Destruction. Her intervention frees Su Mu and establishes the overwhelming gap between the Divine Realm and the forest's ferocious beasts. 25 26 27

After the beasts withdraw, she reassures Su Mu that they will not act recklessly again and privately asks him not to reveal her secret observation. She then affectionately bids him farewell before returning to the Divine Realm with Destruction. 27 28

Ah Yin's Recruitment

The Life Goddess identifies Ah Yin as a transformed Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor and offers to conceal her aura. She later channels divine life energy through Su Mu to complete the concealment, enabling Ah Yin to enter Spirit Hall as the team's seventh member. 30 33 34

Bibi Dong's Self Martial Soul Fusion Skill

Bibi Dong requests her guidance in developing a Self Martial Soul Fusion Skill. Su Mu's doubts about her expertise offend her, prompting her to project herself beside them and take personal charge of the instruction. She guides Bibi Dong's attempt and secretly supplies the power needed to overcome a fusion bottleneck. 43 44

The resulting manifestation resembles a female Su Mu rather than a giant spider. The Life Goddess admits to altering its appearance, then tells Bibi Dong that Su Mu requested the change. Bibi Dong thanks and kisses him, fulfilling the goddess's intention to bring the two closer together. 45

Divine Realm Disturbance and Continued Protection

After Su Mu objects to her surveillance, the Life Goddess becomes distressed when he stops responding and accidentally throws a pillow into Destruction's face. Their ensuing conversation introduces the abnormal energy spreading at the Divine Realm's edge. Although she offers to join the investigation, Destruction asks her to stay and keep Su Mu safe. 55 56

She continues observing him while Destruction issues the formal first examination, requiring his team to win the Soul Master Tournament and successfully defend its championship. The Life examinations are described as following the nine Destruction examinations. 56

Retaliation Against the Clear Sky Sect

When Tang Hao belittles Su Mu and attempts to impress Ah Yin, the Life Goddess secretly slaps him repeatedly. She follows this with a remote kick after his parting threats, while Ah Yin mistakenly credits Su Mu for the intervention. 58 59

In a later confrontation, she secretly beats Tang Chen when he threatens the group over Ah Yin and punches Tang Hao unconscious when he charges Su Mu. Tang Xiao persuades the humiliated Clear Sky Sect party to retreat. The goddess proudly frames her actions as protecting Su Mu from bullying, while he asks her to exercise restraint. 68

Su Mu's Twelve-Winged Fusion

The Life Goddess helps Su Mu combine the powers of his two martial souls into a twelve-winged angel on their first attempt. She celebrates the result, but Su Mu distinguishes this power fusion from the more dangerous task of merging his actual martial souls. 73

When the actual fusion creates chaotic fluctuations that she cannot resolve remotely, she descends and transmits stabilizing power through their interlocked hands. Su Mu completes the Self Martial Soul Fusion Skill, and its twelve-winged form astonishes Qian Xunji and Qian Daoliu. She maintains a dignified demeanor before them while concealing her habitual surveillance. 75 76

Su Mu subsequently spends much of his time refining the technique, with the Life Goddess contributing significantly to his progress. She continues teasing him about Bibi Dong, although one intended interruption is thwarted when he enters an epiphany while developing a skill involving Life Divine Power. 77 81

Secret Storybook Purchase

After Su Mu refuses to provide the unusual storybooks she wants, the Life Goddess seeks Bibi Dong and Ah Yin's help. She asks them to buy as many as possible, intending to use reading and observing Su Mu to pass the time until his ascension. 77 87

She keeps Su Mu asleep within a time-slowing divine barrier during their errand. Once they return with a large collection, she rewards each with a life mark capable of blocking one fatal blow and departs, allowing the barrier to vanish and Su Mu to wake. 88

Tournament Visit and Near Discovery

The Life Goddess watches Ah Yin's victory over Heaven Dou Royal Academy with amusement. After Su Mu leaves the team to find her, she approaches from behind and embraces him, provoking his request that she let go. 91

She claims to have descended to support his match, but he points out that she never appeared publicly. When a passing couple mentions the complete purchase of a storybook shop's stock, she fears that Su Mu will discover her secret hobby and quickly returns to the Divine Realm. 92
