Personality

Qian Xunji is fiercely proud of his disciples and readily uses his authority to protect or elevate them. He values Su Mu's judgment enough to follow his recommendations on training, team composition, and recruitment, even when those plans depart from conventional Spirit Hall methods. 2 9 15

His pride becomes increasingly theatrical after becoming a Titled Douluo. He imitates storybook “protagonist” behavior during soul-beast hunts, loudly declares himself the future greatest Pope, and repeatedly provokes his father with claims that the Qian family genealogy should begin with him. 17 18

Despite his arrogance, he is sensitive about his dignity. He asks Su Mu for help with his bottleneck in private because he fears Bibi Dong will mock him if she learns that he effectively begged for an immortal herb. 15

His theatrical habits are directly influenced by storybooks he purchased after seeing Bibi Dong read them. He applies their dramatic conventions to his own conduct, including insisting that his soul-ring hunt should come last because the protagonist makes the final entrance. 18

Alongside his boastfulness, Qian Xunji demonstrates calculated intimidation. He uses the threat of four Titled Douluo to make Yu Yuanzhen punish his son and surrender compensation, rather than immediately attacking the clan.
