History

Qian Xunji serves as the Pope of Spirit Hall and the teacher of Su Mu and Bibi Dong. He pushes Bibi Dong to close the cultivation gap with Su Mu, while consistently recognizing Su Mu's exceptional value despite the Wish Angel initially being a support-type martial soul. He begins preparations for an early Soul Master Tournament and intends for both disciples to compete. 1

During the Star Dou Great Forest training journey, he accepts Su Mu's advice to remain until Bibi Dong obtains her fourth soul ring. He oversees her combat training, critiques her lack of tactical coordination, and helps her secure the Ten Thousand-Year Myriad-Erosion Demon Spider as her fourth ring. 2 3 4

After Bibi Dong becomes a Soul Ancestor, Qian Xunji states that he intends to appoint Su Mu as Spirit Hall's Holy Son and Bibi Dong as its Holy Maiden after the tournament. Su Mu's awakening of the Six-Winged Destruction Angel and receipt of the Destruction God King's inheritance transform Qian Xunji's pride in his disciple into open exhilaration. He imitates storybook “protagonist” behavior during soul-beast hunts, loudly declares himself the future greatest Pope, and repeatedly provokes his father with claims that the Qian family genealogy should begin with him. 17 18

Despite his arrogance, he is sensitive about his dignity. He asks Su Mu for help with his bottleneck in private because he fears Bibi Dong will mock him if she learns that he effectively begged for an immortal herb. 15
