Ch. 521Three Demon Gods State (Part Two—Sixue Didn't Act Cute, Honest)
Key plot points and events
- Baal’s long-planned union with Mephisto has become even more ambitious: with Diabolo, they intend to combine their three supreme powers. Baal wonders whether the result will be annihilation or transcendence.
- Wizard God awakens under the control of a mysterious presence associated with a Bone Throne and Demon Sword. The being overwhelms Baal in close combat, surviving Baal’s strongest attacks without injury.
- The presence identifies himself as Arandir the Lich, also called the “Wound of Ice and Snow That Extinguishes All.” He senses Baal’s demonic nature and launches him skyward. Baal calls for Mephisto and Diabolo.
- Meanwhile, Diabolo follows the Nine-Tailed Ice Fox to a frozen plain dominated by a sealed Bone Throne. The fox reveals that a lich named Nao, the first lich and ancestor of all liches, once destroyed the ancient Wizard civilization and helped bring about the calamity associated with Magic.
- After receiving Baal’s urgent message, Diabolo leaves immediately. Baal, Mephisto, and Diabolo converge to reunite their powers. The Nine-Tailed Ice Fox and Ancestor of the Witch Tree follow.
Character developments and interactions
- Baal shifts from confident anticipation of the three-way fusion to alarm when Wizard God’s transformed body proves far stronger than expected. His destruction power can cut the deathly energy Arandir tries to attach to his heart.
- Arandir emerges as a composed, immensely powerful antagonist, apparently taking fuller control of Wizard God’s body. He is intrigued by Baal’s strength and delighted to discover Baal is a Demon.
- Diabolo shows caution around the Divine Punishment-like lightning, but chooses to investigate because the unknown threat outweighs rivalry with Baal. He responds instantly when Baal calls.
- The Nine-Tailed Ice Fox acts as guide and source of ancient history, while the Ancestor of the Witch Tree shares Diabolo’s shock at the revelations.
- The chapter closes with the three former parts of one being—Baal (Destruction), Mephisto (Ruin), and Diabolo (Time and Space)—moving toward reunion.
