The Scripture of Crossing Souls

Immortals and Buddhas receive the incense offerings of the living; I alone fulfill the wishes of the dead.

I deliver only unwilling hearts, unappeased regrets, and unfulfilled wishes-ferrying all living beings across and restoring the cycle of reincarnation.

A grave-watching youth by the Wei River in Great Xia stumbles upon a mysterious scripture. By fulfilling the wishes of the dead, he can obtain wondrous treasures of heaven and earth, divine powers, and esoteric arts.

With it, the youth travels onward, delivering salvation to all beings. At some unknown moment, when he suddenly looks back, the ground is already strewn with the corpses of gods and Buddhas, and the paths of reincarnation stretch across the heavens.
