At noon, Lillie and the others stayed on the Ecological Island in Hoenn for lunch.
Hu Yang served everyone food with a smile. "All right, dig in! This afternoon, I'll take you to visit the Littleroot Gym."
Hearing that, Kiawe immediately grew excited. "Mr. Hu Yang, could I have a battle with you?"
"Of course." Hu Yang nodded.
"I want to challenge you too!" Ash raised his hand beside him.
"No problem, but you need to fill your stomachs first," Hu Yang said with a smile.
At that, Kiawe and Ash immediately buried their faces in their bowls and dug in.
Meanwhile, Lillie, Lana, Sophocles, and the others smelled the enticing aroma, their eyes shining with anticipation.
"Wow, it looks delicious!"
"Let's eat!"
Lillie picked up her utensils and slowly tasted the Hoenn cuisine before her.
After just one bite, her eyes widened. "It's so good!"
Mallow nodded in agreement. "I didn't know you were such a good cook, Mr. Hu Yang. Did you always cook for yourself when you traveled?"
"That's right." Hu Yang nodded with a smile. He looked at Gengar beside him and told Mallow, "But I wasn't cooking alone. This fellow cooked with me too."
Gengar looked at everyone and smiled. "Geng!"
Mallow said, "You two seem really close!"
Lillie asked curiously, "Mr. Hu Yang, how did you and Gengar meet?"
Hu Yang and Gengar exchanged a glance, and he answered with a smile, "That story starts with an orb."
He told Lillie and Mallow how he had happened to buy an orb with Gengar's spirit sealed inside it, and how they had then gone to an island together to retrieve Gengar's body.
"We've lived together ever since," Hu Yang said.
"Geng~"
"What about Cramorant?" Lana looked at the vacant-looking bird Pokémon.
As though hearing its
