History

Rise after the Fierce Beast Tribulation

The Dragon Race emerged from the Fierce Beast Tribulation as the dominant power of the Four Seas. Although it suffered severe losses while helping destroy Shen Ni and the Four Great Fiendish Generals, it inherited substantial Heaven and Earth merit and held unrivaled influence in the waters of the Primordial World. 21

After the tribulation, the race organized the repair of damaged rivers, lakes, seas, and Water Veins while purging surviving Fierce Beasts. Qiuniu and Yinglong travelled the east aboard the Golden Dragon Boat, using a Water Vein Map to oversee this restoration. 20 21

Recruitment of Innate Divine Beings

To replace wartime losses and prepare for future instability, the Dragon Race actively recruited independent Innate Divine Beings—especially newly ascended Great Luo cultivators. Its offer to Qing Xuan and Qing Yi included a chosen East Sea sanctuary, access to the Water Vein Map, ancient ruins, Great Dao inheritances, Dragon Race Fate Aura, and a possible Dao discussion with Ancestor Dragon. 22

Qiuniu eventually admitted that this recruitment also served a military purpose. With the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin factions expanding into contested territory, the Dragon Race sought powerful allies before the three races’ border conflicts grew into open war. 23

The North Sea Incident

An ancient Dragon Race Great Luo remnant guarded a sealed battlefield beneath the North Sea. Having survived since the Fierce Beast Tribulation through a grand formation and a fragment of the Chaos Pearl, it attempted to transfer the Godslayer Spear’s killing calamity onto Qing Xuan and seize both Qing Xuan’s Chaos origin and Qing Yi’s Creation origin. 27 28 29

Qing Xuan reversed the Calamity-Transferring Formation while Qing Yi repeatedly destroyed the remnant’s manifested dragon body. The elder’s final True Spirit was eradicated after it abandoned its regenerative formation, and the ancient seal returned to suppressing the battlefield and the Godslayer Spear’s lingering intent. 28 30

Qiuniu later confirmed that the remnant had been an elder whose lingering will Ancestor Dragon had preserved because of its contributions during the Fierce Beast Tribulation. He considered the elder’s destruction self-inflicted if Qing Xuan’s account was accurate, but stated that he would report the matter to Ancestor Dragon. 33

Dragon–Phoenix–Qilin Conflict

Unable to find a personal path beyond Great Luo, Ancestor Dragon sought to bind his Dao to the Dragon Race’s Fate Aura and the authority of the Four Seas. The Phoenix Clan and Qilin Tribe pursued comparable methods through the avian and beast races, making expansion and conflict over territory unavoidable. 34

The Dragon Race eventually withdrew scattered forces from northern and western waters, recalling its dragonkind to the east for the final confrontation. 50 During that battle, Ancestor Dragon used the race’s remaining Fortune to take a half-step beyond the Thirty-Six Heavens of Great Luo, but the birth of the Heavenly Dao exposed the immense karma accumulated by the three clans’ war. 51 52

The Dragon Race’s merit from the Fierce Beast Tribulation could not offset its blood debt. Its Fate Aura was stained by karmic force, its attempt to resist the Heavenly Dao failed, and Qiuniu died after contributing his remaining origin and Fate Aura to the final assault. 52

After the Calamity

Following the fall of the three-clan era, the Dragon Race’s remaining Dao aura withdrew into the Four Seas. Ancestor Dragon retreated, and the race lost its former position as a contender for dominion over the entire Primordial World. 55

Despite this defeat, it retained control over the Four Seas and numerous aquatic clans. It later appeared to support Eastern King’s efforts to gather male immortals, using his faction to extend Dragon Race influence beyond its waters while Eastern King gained access to its resources and backing. 94 95

Organization and Influence
