Background

Tang Zhiqing is the daughter of the former owner of a family dojo. After her father died of lung cancer, the dojo nearly emptied; she initially had no intention of restoring it. Her cousin Qin Hanyu nevertheless continued searching for a capable man who could inherit the dojo and marry Tang 33. Tang's mother lives in the countryside with her grandparents, while Tang and Qin live at the dojo home; Tang also rents a place near school for convenience 31 36.

The dojo preserves a family bow and arrows said to have belonged to an ancestor who fought Jin soldiers. These weapons later become Crystal's signature armament 36 37.
