"Get up." Kuzan rose to leave, but immediately turned back, scratching his head. "Did you know Teacher Zephyr plans to form the Pirates Guerrillas?"
"Huh? What?!"
Loa jerked his head up and stared at Kuzan in disbelief!
Form the Pirates Guerrillas!
Wasn't that supposed to happen two years from now?!
Loa had been training so desperately because he wanted to avenge Zephyr. Another important reason was to help him let go of his hatred and avoid the ending he had met in the original story.
And what had he just heard?
Zephyr was going to form the Pirates Guerrillas!
"Why didn't he tell me?!" Loa asked anxiously. He sprang to his feet and headed the other way. "No. I have to ask him what's going on!"
Kuzan watched him, his gaze steady, and murmured to himself, "Just as I thought. You know a lot, Loa."
Then he hurled an Ice Spear to stop Loa from going any farther.
"What are you doing?" Loa leaped back to dodge the Ice Spear, his voice urgent.
"That's what I should be asking you. What are you doing?" Kuzan said grimly. "What do you intend to do? Stop a man from taking his revenge? Don't you realize that would not only disappoint Teacher Zephyr, it would make him furious? Even if it killed him, he would never agree to let you avenge him!"
If Kuzan's guess was right, Loa's goal was obvious.
He wanted to avenge Zephyr!
But Kuzan would not allow it. Absolutely not.
This was the first time either of them had spoken openly about it.
