Tony spotted Smoothie's corpse at once. Gripping White Bone Lord, he gave Crocodile a helpless look.
"Huh? You've got the nerve to say that to me?"
Crocodile looked as though he'd seen a ghost. Shameless bastard. If we're counting kills, you've killed more than anyone! If the Jerome Brothers hadn't stopped you, who knows how many of those officers would be dead?
They're not just enemy fighters. They're resources we could use!
"But the ones I killed were nobodies. They weren't on the level of the Four Sweet Commanders!"
"Heh. So what if they were nobodies? Are background characters not people?"
Crack!
"Are you two finished?"
Katakuri stood between two doughnuts. To withstand the killing intent pouring from Tony, he had already used Devil Fruit Awakening. The strange properties of his Mochi-Mochi Fruit, combined with the Future Sight granted by his Observation Haki, had allowed him to suppress Tony in his Shura state. But killing him was still a long way off.
His siblings were still fighting for their lives, and he had decided to break away when he suddenly saw Smoothie's corpse. His resolve to kill hardened, yet the two enemies before him acted as though he weren't there, casually trading remarks.
"Don't worry. Your turn's coming."
Interrupted by Katakuri, Crocodile dropped the argument. A Poison Sand Longsword appeared in his palm, but just as he was about to attack, Tony held White Bone Lord in front of him.
"Hey, he's my prey. Don't steal him!"
Crocodile said, "Tch! I'll remember to come back and collect your body."
"Thanks for the kind words! I'll be standing when you get back!"
Crocodile shrugged, put away the Poison Sand Longsword, and took out a Den Den Mushi to make a call.
