Hina and the others had already spent several days at the Marine base near Northric Town.
Wuli's injuries had mostly recovered as well.
Hina gathered the Marine officers and soldiers under her command, preparing to leave the base.
Just as Hina was about to board the warship, a sinister voice drifted over.
"Rear Admiral Hina, where are you planning to sail off to?"
Following the voice, Wuli saw a tall, thin man wearing glasses and a sinister smile.
He was not wearing a Marine uniform, but a blue suit with the World Government emblem embroidered over the left side of his chest.
Hina looked at him and said coldly, "Isn't this Lord Jerry of CP6? You had the base's rear admiral reject my recommendation before. What do you want this time?"
The more Hina thought about it, the angrier she became. Her recommendation slot had been taken away, yet she had promised Wuli that she would definitely secure him a place in the World Military Draft. The person responsible was standing right in front of her.
When the base's rear admiral had already agreed, Jerry had secretly whispered a few words and made him change his mind.
"You're about to set sail and leave, so naturally I came to see you off." Jerry adjusted his glasses and looked at Wuli beside Hina with a sinister grin. "Is this the person you wanted to recommend?"
"Bounty hunter Wuli, previously active in my hometown, the South Blue, known as the 'strongest sea.' He sent every wanted pirate to Marine prison. For a time, the pirates lived in terror, as if every rustle were Tsuru's cry, and he became the nightmare of South Blue pirates, someone they desperately avoided."
Hearing Jerry's words, Hina could not help turning to look at Wuli beside her. She had not expected him to be so famous in the South Blue.
Wuli shrugged, neither confirming nor denying it.
Hina was somewhat puzzled. "Then why did you refuse to give him a slot if you knew?"
The World Military Draft was overseen by the CP organization, a secret intelligence agency directly under the World Government.
"Because of you." Jerry looked at Hina.
"Because of me?" While Hina was still confused, Jerry's next words instantly turned her expression cold.
"How is your teacher?" Jerry acted as if he had not seen Hina's icy gaze and continued in a sinister tone, "Someone as unorthodox and unstable as him should have been eliminated long ago. Don't you agree, Rear Admiral Hina?"
Before he had even finished speaking, a powerful aura erupted from Hina's body. Iron rods extended from her arms and lashed toward Jerry.
Soru!
Clang!
Jerry used Soru, one of the Six Powers of Rokushiki, to evade Hina's attack.
A deep iron-rod-shaped mark was left on the ground.
"Rear Admiral Hina, attacking a World Government official without cause will result in accountability," Jerry said with a smile, showing no fear of Hina's attack.
The anger in Hina's eyes had yet to fade as she prepared to attack again.
But the person beside her moved even faster. Using his sword sheath as a sword, Wuli attacked Jerry.
Jerry narrowed his eyes, assumed a yoga pose, and threw a punch at Wuli.
In just a few breaths, the two exchanged dozens of moves. Cracks had already spread across the concrete beneath their feet.
The white bandages around Wuli's body were faintly stained red.
Hina gritted her teeth. "Wuli, forget it. Stop."
Jerry gave a sinister grin. "Too late."
Spiral Flying Kick.
Suddenly, Jerry leaped into the air and spun midair. His legs, wrapped in Armament Haki, kicked toward Wuli with incomparably ferocious force.
Swept by the wind from his kick, the ground was shaved away like tofu.
Sword energy wrapped around the sheath in Wuli's hand as he used it to block Jerry's attack.
With a loud boom, the air seemed to be compressed and burst outward in every direction, making Hina's hair flutter.
Alarms began blaring throughout the Marine base as Marines gathered around them.
On the warship, Hina's subordinates began to worry about Wuli.
Seeing that Wuli had blocked the attack, Jerry rose into the air again, Armament Haki enveloping both fists.
Aurora Flash Thrust Punch.
Jerry rapidly threw a barrage of punches downward, countless fist shadows dazzling the eye.
Wherever the fist shadows landed, the ground exploded as though it had been bombarded by artillery shells.
The people nearby were all shocked by the destructive power of that move.
But worry filled Hina's eyes. Someone capable of contending with Kidd naturally would not be weaker than Jerry, but the problem was—
Wuli's injuries had not fully healed yet, even though his body recovered quickly.
The bandages around Wuli's body had now been completely dyed red, but he showed no intention of retreating.
Black iron rods extended from Hina's arms as she prepared to save him, but she was stunned by the next scene.
Wuli, engulfed by the fist shadows, showed no panic at all. He slowly raised the sword sheath in his hand, and sword intent burst forth.
Floating Feather Divine Wind Sword Style, First Form: Gale.
A sharp wave of sword energy, like a raging wind, swept away Jerry's fist shadows like autumn leaves.
Jerry instantly and instinctively used Tekkai, one of the Six Powers.
Yet he was still sent flying like a kite with its string cut, crashing heavily onto the ground with a bloody slash across his chest.
He looked at Wuli, his eyes filled with hatred, and gritted his teeth. "Do you know the consequences of attacking a World Government official? You're dead."
Hina's gaze sharpened at those words. As a rear admiral, attacking a World Government official would at most earn her a verbal reprimand from her superiors, but for a bounty hunter to attack a World Government official—
Jerry then looked at the Marines in the base and roared furiously, "Didn't you see this bounty hunter attack a World Government official? What are you waiting for? Arrest them now!"
The next moment, the base's cannons aimed at Wuli, while Marines carrying weapons began to surround them.
"What are you doing? Stop at once!" Hina shouted with a frown at the Marines from the base.
The base Marines looked at Jerry lying on the ground, then at Hina in her Marine uniform bearing the word Justice. For a moment, they did not know what to do.
Just then, the rear admiral in charge of the base arrived, accompanied by two people.
One had pink hair parted down the middle in a masculine style and wore iron rings on his fingers.
The other wore heart-shaped glasses and held a circular saw suspended by thin wires.
Jerry's eyes lit up when he saw the rear admiral in charge of the base arrive, and he was quite pleased at first. But upon seeing those two, his expression darkened again.
Naturally, he knew who they were: Iron Fist Fullbody and the Hypnotist Jango.
Both of them were subordinates of that woman, Hina.
Seeing the tense atmosphere, the base's rear admiral naturally understood what had happened. The commotion had been too great for them not to notice.
The rear admiral in charge of the base first gestured for the Marines to lower their weapons.
Then he said, "A few days ago, Wuli and Rear Admiral Hina drove back Kidd and his crew. They helped repel pirates from the area under my jurisdiction. This was a misunderstanding, so let us leave it at that."
As he spoke, the rear admiral looked at Hina, who nodded slightly.
He then looked at Jerry, who reluctantly nodded under the rear admiral's gaze.
It was impossible for them to shake hands and let bygones be bygones.
Thus, after Hina bid farewell to the rear admiral, Wuli followed Hina and the others aboard the warship under Jerry's gloomy gaze.
The warship slowly set sail and gradually disappeared beyond the horizon.
On the warship, the Hypnotist Jango first cast a disdainful glance at Wuli, then looked at Hina with adoration. "Where are we going?"
Hina did not look at him. Gazing at the calm horizon, she said lightly, "We're going to find Teacher Zephyr."
Under the radiant sun, the sea seemed to be covered in glittering fragments of silver as the waves chased after one another.
"Former Marine Admiral 'Black Arm' Zephyr?" Everyone on the warship was astonished. They had not expected Hina to be a student of Black Arm Zephyr.
"No matter where Officer Hina goes, I will follow her with unwavering devotion until death." The Hypnotist Jango clasped his hands together and spoke with an expression of worship.
Hina glanced at the bloodstained bandages on Wuli's body, a strange emotion flashing through her heart. She simply did not know what he was staring blankly into space and thinking about.
Remembering what Jerry of CP6 had said, she frowned. Were they planning to make a move against Teacher Zephyr?
No one knew that Wuli was currently immersed in the Heroic Way System in his mind.
