Moses fell dead in the blink of an eye. The Dragon People in the stands stared in disbelief. Then thunderous cheers erupted.

Ye Chen's stunning comeback had given the crowd their fill of excitement.

Jesse, the prison warden, stamped his feet in fury. "I've been a warden all these years, and I still misjudged him. Damn rotten luck! He cost me ten thousand Beli. Monkey, bet ten thousand Beli on that kid to win the next round."

Monkey grumbled under his breath. He'd wanted to bet on Ye Chen last night, but he'd listened to the warden's worthless analysis instead. Now his purse was even lighter.

One of the two guards behind him cursed. "Keep moving! You've had your moment in the spotlight. What, haven't you had enough applause?"

"I want to cheer her on. Is that allowed? It doesn't break any rules, does it?" Ye Chen started toward Hancock.

"Well, that's strange. You're lucky if you can look after yourself, yet you're worried whether someone else lives or dies? You've got time to spare, kid."

The guard snorted and shoved Ye Chen. "Move it. We don't have time
