Plenty of reinforcements had arrived: Jack the Furious Slash, Buggy the Clown, former Shichibukai Crocodile, Cavendish, Fire Fist Ace, and quite a few other pirate crews. One arrival caught Ye Chen completely by surprise: Blackbeard had come too.
It was no surprise they had all shown up together. The reason was simple. The Marines had sealed off Sabaody long ago, initially to deal with Ye Chen. After Golden Lion appeared, they grew even more alarmed and doubled their forces. The pirates on the island had suffered for it.
The Marines were hardly going to leave them alone. Some pirates had been captured; others had gone into hiding. Either way, none of them could hope to pass through Sabaody.
Once Ye Chen appeared and Golden Lion unleashed his might, the pirates saw their chance. They came out of hiding, hoping to crush the Marines and enter the New World!
"Blackbeard?"
Ye Chen sent Penn flying with a punch, then turned toward Blackbeard. He wanted nothing more than to go over and beat him senseless.
But he had already given Blackbeard a beating last time, and Ye Chen couldn't see the future. How could he have known this man would one day become someone everyone feared?
Blackbeard knew when to keep his head down. At the sight of Ye Chen, he took the initiative to appear harmless, smiling and calling out from a distance. "See? I didn't lie to you. Sky Island really does exist."
