Destroying Ohara

Before long, Robin appeared on the beach. Seeing the giant who had suddenly appeared before her, she was greatly surprised. Frowning, she gave Saul a thorough once-over. "Old man, are you a weirdo too?"

"Hm? A weirdo?" Saul was completely baffled, his thick brows immediately twisting into a dark line.

Ye Chen's heart twisted like a knife. Ever since she had eaten the Devil Fruit and been treated as a monster by the people on the island, the incident had cast a shadow over Robin's heart. Seeing such a huge giant so suddenly made her feel close to him. If he was a monster too, then she would have someone like her.

"This old man isn't a weirdo. What's your name? You came looking for Ye Chen, right? You're such a pretty little girl. Dereshishishi!"

Saul was very cheerful. After looking at Robin for a while, he suddenly burst into hearty laughter.

"Robin is amazing. She became the island's youngest archaeologist at only eight years old!" Ye Chen introduced her with a proud look. However, upon learning that Robin was an archaeologist, the smile on Saul's face instantly froze.

Ye Chen had asked Saul about that expression before, but Saul had refused to say anything. In Ye Chen's view, there might have been some secret that Saul did not want others to know. Since Saul did not want to tell him, Ye Chen did not care to pry.

"Ye Chen, what gift did you prepare for me?" After talking with Saul for a while, Robin eagerly ran over to Ye Chen. They both regarded one another as their best friend. Robin had been treated as a monster on the island and excluded by children her own age. Ye Chen had been saved by Robin and thought highly of her. As for everyone else on the island, he truly had no interest in them.

"Look. Pretty, isn't it?"

He took Robin's hand and led her into the woods. Beneath a large tree, he pointed upward. Robin looked up, and her eyes immediately lit up. There was actually an exquisite wooden cabin built in the tree, with many unknown flowers planted outside. The cabin had two floors and was beautifully decorated.

"Go take a look. If you like it, it's yours!"

Ye Chen smiled. Just as he was about to climb up and lower the rope ladder, Robin could no longer hold herself back. She crossed her arms over her chest and leaned back slightly, her face full of bliss. Yet many snow-white, petal-like arms suddenly sprouted before her, one after another. Before long, they formed a rope ladder made of arms. Robin smiled at Ye Chen, grabbed the ladder, and happily climbed up.

The cabin's design was somewhat rough, but it had been decorated with great care. Ye Chen had spent a full three months on it in his spare time between training before it was finished. Seeing Robin unable to take her eyes off it, smiling all the while, Ye Chen felt energized all over. Her faint smile was so warm and endearing that he felt the hardship of those three months had not been in vain.

"If Robin likes it, why not move out and live here? You won't have to stay at your aunt's house anymore."

Robin immediately nodded at Ye Chen's suggestion. She had long since had enough of living at her aunt's house. If Ye Chen had not appeared, there would never have been a smile on her face.

While chatting, Saul learned that Robin's mother had gone out to sea when Robin was very young. His heart immediately turned cold. The more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed. He hurriedly asked, "Robin, what is your mother's name?"

"Nicola Olvia!" Robin answered proudly.

Although her mother's appearance had become very vague in her memories, her mother's name had always been engraved in her heart.

Saul froze at once, his entire body turning cold from head to toe! His thoughts became a complete mess, and he no longer paid attention to the wind and waves beside him or Ye Chen practicing his punches in the water.

The waves continuously battered the shore as fierce winds howled and spray churned. The temperamental sea was far more violent than usual. Bare-chested, Ye Chen stood amid the waves, relentlessly punching and kicking. He was now almost fanatical about training. Whenever he had time, Ye Chen would never allow himself to slack off.

Right now, he had nothing. He wanted to eat well, sleep well, live comfortably, and marry many beautiful wives. He could only strive for all of that himself, and his only support was his martial arts!

In his previous life, he could have whatever he wanted because he had the means. In this life, he could only rely on himself. Though his ideals were rather worldly, there was nothing wrong with wanting to live better than others and not be bullied.

Even if he wanted to marry several beautiful wives, what man did not think that way?

"Robin is Olvia's daughter..." Saul's expression changed drastically. It was as if he had been struck by lightning. Just what he feared had come to pass. He had never expected her to be Olvia's daughter.

"Are you all right, Saul?" Robin asked worriedly.

Saul shook his head repeatedly. "We can't stay in this place any longer. I have to leave immediately!"

However, Saul's injuries had not yet healed. Struggling to stand was still far too difficult for him.

"Saul, aren't we friends? If something is wrong, can't you tell us?" Robin was very perceptive. From Saul's expression, she vaguely felt a sense of unease in her heart.

"Sigh, I really shouldn't have come to this island. Since you're asking, I'll tell you. Robin, this is Ohara, right?"

"Yes, it's a very sacred place." Robin answered proudly.

"There are many historians on the island, right? I mean those researching the Poneglyphs."

"The Poneglyphs? Saul, you know about those too? There is a hundred-year blank period in human history. The scholars on the island have always been studying what happened during that time. Could it be that you know, Saul?"

Saul shook his head. "I don't know. But there's something I must tell you: the government strictly forbids anyone from touching that history. No one is allowed to study it. If I'm not mistaken, the Navy has already sent warships here."

"Why? Why won't they allow research? Isn't learning the truth of human history something great and sacred? Why is the Navy coming here? Saul, I don't understand what you're saying at all!"

For Robin, who was only eight years old, Saul's words were very hard to accept.

"Why is the Navy coming here?" At some point, Ye Chen had walked over from the shore. Though he was dripping wet, his expression was extremely grave—so calm that it was almost frightening. From the beginning, he had seen that Saul was hiding something from him.

"To eliminate the scholars on this island!" Saul answered with some pain. Yet his tone was firm and resolute. Clearly, he was not lying, nor was he in the mood to laugh.

"Eliminate them? Why?"

Saul shook his head. "Because too many people on this island have taken part in researching the blank period of history."

"You're lying. The Navy would never do something like that." Robin pouted, visibly growing agitated. She even clenched her fists.

Saul looked at Robin with pain in his eyes and earnestly warned her, "Robin, you'd better leave this place immediately too. If the Navy really arrives here, remember—never tell them that you're an archaeologist!"
