Kaido could go days without food or water. That was nothing to him. But the pain in his organs was unbearable, more than even a man of iron could endure. Ye Chen had recovered his strength and launched a relentless assault, leaving Kaido in constant peril.
They fought for another half day. Then Ye Chen struck Kaido in the throat, and the battle finally ended. A powerful shockwave burst from his fist and tore straight through Kaido's neck. His head slumped, and his massive body swayed a few times before crashing into the sea.
The impact boomed, sending enormous waves surging outward. Spray flew everywhere, as though a torrential rain had begun to fall. Ye Chen stood in the air and gazed down at Kaido in the sea. His expression was calm, but his heart was anything but.
Rather than say Kaido had lost to him, it would be more accurate to say the forces of nature had defeated him.
The sea was merciless. It swallowed everything. Even an invincible member of the Four Emperors could not withstand its furious onslaught.
"Whoa... The captain won! That's incredible!"
"He's amazing! That's our captain!"
"This is the man I chose. I'm so happy!"
Kaido's subordinates were stunned. It felt like a nightmare. What they had just witnessed was almost impossible to believe.
After a long while, everyone looked at Ye Chen differently. His companions gazed at him with admiration; Kaido's men looked at him with fear.
After killing Blackbeard, Ye Chen had once again done the unthinkable and killed Kaido.
It was an unprecedented feat. He had killed two of the strongest members of the Four Emperors in succession. And he was still so young. Who knew where his limits lay?
Once Kaido's men came to their senses, they fled by ship.
