Anfuni had never seen such a rundown house. The roof was covered with the Wasteland's unique thorn grass, and the pillars were made from the Wasteland's equally unique baldwood—smooth and bare. Cracks as thick as a calf ran through the door, making the place look as though it had been abandoned for decades.
In her eyes, Blackwind Pass Town was already shabby enough. The houses lining both sides of its streets were barely fit for sheltering people, hardly worthy of being called homes. Yet this one was even worse. It was simply uninhabitable.
However, beneath the notice board by the door lay quite a few parchment letters, piled up thick and pressed down tightly, one after another in neat order. Clearly, there were usually many visitors. The topmost parchment had already begun to weather, so it must have been left here long ago.
"All right, we're home!" Li Ziran smiled at Anfuni, walked over to the door sign, wiped away the words on it, then tossed it aside like a piece of scrap wood. That meant he was home. Only then did he bend down, pick up the thick stack of parchment letters, and flip through them casually.
