Five Elements Return to One, a Sense in the Chaos

Originally, according to the Five Elements Mutual Generation, wood generated fire, fire generated earth, earth generated metal, metal generated water, and water generated wood again, cycling endlessly.

But now, with earth missing from the Five Elements, only metal, wood, water, and fire remained. Yet these four elements still formed a cycle.

Wood still generated fire, but in the next step, fire directly generated metal. Metal then generated water, and water generated wood.

This completely defied common sense.

Yet this was precisely a manifestation of Dao Xuan's cultivation, of the principles of Five Elements Simultaneous Birth and the Innate Five Elements that he had proposed before.

Metal, wood, water, fire, and earth were merely the five attributes of the Five Elements.

Once one thoroughly comprehended this, the Five Elements Dao could be controlled entirely at will.

Even if one element were missing from the Five Elements, or even another one besides that, the balance would not be disrupted.

Dao Xuan continued evolving the divine light. Another color was removed from the Four-Colored Divine Light; this time, it was the red fire-element divine light. The remaining metal, wood, and water became clear, white, and black Three-Colored Divine Light.

The three colors continued to circulate, remaining balanced.

Then, suddenly, the Three-Colored Divine Light lost another color. This time, the white metal-element divine light vanished.

Only azure and black remained.

But Dao Xuan clearly had no intention of stopping. He continued the evolution. Before long, the black water-element divine light within the azure-black divine light also disappeared.

Only that increasingly thick, increasingly vibrant azure wood-element divine light remained!

Even at this point, Dao Xuan showed no sign of stopping.

Suddenly, the azure divine light flickered, and the entire beam vanished just like that.

But calling it vanished was not quite right.
